Maybe I'm one of the few who still does EFTs? It's because of this that Capitec wins for me (in terms of costs). The most expensive part of banking for me is the fees for EFTs, if FNB was cheaper in that regard I'd move to them in a heartbeat...
You get four additional accounts for free. Switch sms notifications off and move a chunk of your money into a sub account (can't be touched) then move money to main account if/when needed. Simple really.
Exactly what I do. R50 in main account, rest in one of the other 4 savings accounts. Move money across just in time for debit orders. EFT directly from the savings account. No need for paid sms's.
I have an Easy account as well. I chose Capitec because of my 3 monthly debit orders and 6 EFT's - Capitec saves me big time.
