FNB Fusion

They did send some weird comms out as well a few weeks ago that made no sense, as if they would bill everyone on a per usage basis throught the month or some such.

But your case does sound like pro-rata.

Ah yes, I remember that. I think they said they would deduct the fees per use from your available funds. So the money will still be in the balance portion and it will only get debited at the end of the month, but you won't be able to use it. At least that's what I understood from that email...

That's the way I understood it. Capitec does it that way. Rather than coming in a whack unexpectedly at the end of the month.

I presume that's for out-of-bundle transactions though.

Thats for other transactions where the cost is not part of the bundle fee. For example if you buy airtime, there is a fee for it. Instead of bundling all those transactions, and let it go once off at the time of account payment, they now do it as you do the transactions. Pretty much anything under "Buy" like airtime, prepaid elect, lotto ect.

Asking for a friend, she is on Gold cheque and credit card bundle from back in the day when she was still working. Now that she is a stay at home mom, if she converts to Gold Fusion, will they even give it to her seeing as she has no income now, and if so, will the credit limit possibly be zero?

Best thing is for her to ask for a quote on moving to fusion. She can then decide whether or not to accept the offer.

Agreed. Chances are that she is denied because there’s no income to the account. But it won’t hurt trying.... you can always decline the offer to move to fusion.

Why go to fusion when no income?
Rather downgrade to FNB Easy pay as you go account which is like R5.75 or something low like that.
No income means you need to save every rand you can.

Her husband is employed and she has certain household expenses (groceries, petrol, EFTs) which usually get paid through her FNB accounts in any event. So there would be benefits to playing the FNB Gold eBucks game IMO.

Only if you can maintain t5, otherwise its pretty pointless to be honest....

I highly doubt they re-run any credit checks.

They’ll look at in flows out flows maybe.

Had some very bad service from FNB, when I upgraded my Gold Cheque to the Gold Fusion, last month. I mentioned a few times during the process, that I don't want Premier. Yet, this month when they deducted account fees, I noticed that they put me on Premier Fusion. Struggling now a week long to get it back to Gold.
2 days ago they dropped me back to Gold, but instead of refunding the difference, the deducted a further amount for account fees. Had a word with them again, they since refunded that deductions. Though, they seem reluctant to refund me on the difference between the Gold and Premier, they deducted on the 4th. Still waiting very patiently.....

Warning : Please check and double check their work, because they seem to be very incompetent in what they do. Also, I don't think Fusion is for everyone. I regret making the move.

Why you regret the move? you paying too much fees?

If I pay, what I was suppose to, then it will work out the same as a cheque. My experience with the Fusion so far, is that it works the same as my cheque with overdraft. I just had the Credit card too. So I'm supposed to save, because I don't need an CC. Difference is, back then I could choose what I wanted to use, Cheque or CC. So far Fusion is probably not bad.
But most of my regret is the struggle I now had to go through the last week, just to get everything as I wanted it to be, in the first place. And the fact that they still owe me money.

When you draw cash while in "overdraft" on the Fusion account, do you pay interest or any fees?
Or will cash only attract interest after 30 days, like the cc swipes?

(With a split cc/cheque account you can use the credit card as much as you like and keep a certain amount in your cheque account for cash. If you draw cash on your cc you pay fees afaiu)
