Fnb is offline!!!!!!!!! Wtf

All banks go offline so switching isn’t going to solve the problem. Just get a virgin money credit card and use it as an emergency card.

Uhm what nonsense is this you saying? All banks go offline but recommend a VM CC that is backed by ABSA. If a bank goes "offline" it's an outage or scheduled maintenance there is no all banks are offline for bulk processing of offline transactions.

That said I do keep my Woolworths CC as a backup always because if my main card Tyme bank fails the CC would probably work.

I wanted Mc Donalds after clubbing & fnb decides to decline my transaction wtf. Went to a Absa Atm, declined!

Tried to ewallet myself & draw from fnb atm, declined!

I have funds in my account.

This always happens with FNB. I never have cash on me & this happens. ****ing embarrassing

How do you promote a product like Ebucks that encourages your customers to use their cards & you system goes offline.

What if i was paying for petrol & your stupid system goes offline.

Disgusting. I am moving over to a competitor. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Stop whining. ALL banks go offline to do updates, especially in the early hours of the morning on a weekend.

1. ALWAYS keep emergency cash in your car.
2. Get an emergency card from a different bank.

Switching is not going to solve the problem.

These hours that the OP was talking about are typical maintenance periods.
Capitec at least inform us when they're going to do it, but yes, this is the typical time period a bank does maintenance, chosen to minimize impact to clients

Never had this issue with Capitec, and we've had munchies after midnight a lot of times, especially on holiday.

What’s wrong with a VM CC? ‍ reason I recommended it is because it has no monthly fees and will only be used as a back up card. Unless if Op wants to pay bank charges for a card that will only be used once every 2 years.

All this kuk and drama in case a bank goes offline at some stage when you need it...jissus.
Stick R500 folded up into some crevice in your car, problem solved.

And if one more fuknut says.."Uh, who still uses cash?" .....thus obviously missing the whole point of this exercise, I'll know trolling has become the main agenda.

Saw reports on the office IT support Whatsapp group about banks being offline. Not just FNB

You sure you weren't pissed and punched in your pin wrong? I mean, wtf eats MCD in the early hours after clubbing if not gesuip?

about every student, 20 -30 yr old and pisscat in existence.

Yes Absa was offline end of last month. All card, app, online banking and ATM's. But what makes me angry is that Absa is on 'maintenance' a lot of times.
Welcome to our world... I will be coding away and then we get the dreaded phone calls from our support team... "The transactions are failing on the live monitoring system"

What other "food" service places are open that time of night? Generally you have to choose McD or garage pie, or maybe KFC (I'd much rather have McDs than KFC).
