So this morning i go to Pick n Pay and fill up the trolley with some groceries, when i get to the till, my FNB card says "Transaction cannot be processed"

I paid for the few essentials with cash.

I went to an ATM, got the same message.
My fuel tank is almost empty, i can't fill up, i can't go anywhere.

Internet banking is also down...

Anyone experincing the same problem?

Yip... I have been trying since about 5pm yesterday and its still not working.

I am so irritated and worst thing is, FNB Internet Banking doesn't bother to put a note explaining anything to you. So we have no idea how long its going to be down for still.

I urgently to pay suppliers for clients building materials (and they need delivery tomorrow), so I am going to have a LOVERLY Blue Monday.

I will most certainly direct them here to confirm that FNB is down... so thanks guys for saying something.

Have a good day.

lol they have actully if you recently logged into online banking they put a anouncement saying its down for scheduled maintenance today for a certain period of time which i cannot remember now:)

Then why did they not E Mail or SMS their clients?I am with FNB first I heard of their down time was reading this thread.

Sounds like a security issue to me. Nothing else should take this long to resolve, with no solution in sight.

Has FNB been hacked?

FNB.co.za definitely not hacked. Support team currently addressing the Online Banking downtime experienced. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Will post a note once we’re up and running

For more information give our call centre a ring on 0860 11 22 44

hypothetically, if it was hacked, and my money is all gone, can i tell you how much there use to be in my account then u put it back? ;) cause i won the lottery on Friday....

Maybe this would explain why a payment I made using eBucks doesn't appeared to have cleared yet...

More annoying though, is the website from which I made the payment Entrytime Online didn't handle the non/delayed payment very well. No email confirmation after the transaction and I ended up on a page that didn't do a whole lot.

FNB apologises to customers inconvenienced by limited access to Online Banking during Monday 5 Oct.

The bank upgraded its online banking systems and is currently experiencing excess processing volumes.

In order to maintain services, we are regulating the number of online bankers at any one time and are admitting new logons each time volumes allow us to do so.

We are urgently working on restoring unrestricted access to FNB Online Bankers.

Thumbs up FNB

Yeah I second that.

I think it's time that businesses realise that mybroadband can actually play quite a nice role in communicating with users.

Very resourceful site :)
