FNB Network down???

Make use of cellphone banking till online banking is up and running again - http://bit.ly/1gsUIf

Not accusing you of anything, but that url looks a bit suspicious. Furthermore I cannot use cellphone banking because I'm not registered for it. I never felt the need to register for it because I used to have stable online banking.

I am overseas and can't get into my bank account. However, I must say I find the FNB Internet banking site to be much better than my british one (Barclays) The security features make it incredibly frustrating to use. I can basically only login from my home PC which has my login details stored because I can't remember the 16 digit ID I am supposed to use....forcing me to save the details on my home PC sort of defeats the security of the system I think.

What my bank does, if I try log in from a different computer, is send me a code to my cellphone that I have to punch in. Now if my cellphone is not with me, then I am stuck :(

I am with Standard bank, and I wish they would look at one of the bigger US banks and make notes on how much you can do and how intuitive the interface is. This is all without paying a cent in bank fees.

Not sure if it's at all related but all FNB ATMs in East London seemed to be down on Saturday night as well. Trying to use another ATM gave a "Your institution cannot be reached." :D

Fun times :)

I actually logged onto Fnb this morning for a brief period of time. Then I lost the connection. It is very annoying as payments cannot be made into our corporate account nor can we transfer funds between the 14 bank accounts we currently use.Why does Fnb try and fix something that is not broken.

Also found that none of my FNB debit cards worked at Spar this afternoon. The lady in front of me also tried her FNB debit card. It failed but when she used a ABSA card it went through.

I'm registered for both internet and cellphone banking.whats the use of cellphone banking when we can't make any once off payments to other accounts?it doesn't help this situation. We,south africans are paying a fortune in bank charges to allow such treatment upon us.

Do they use an external IT company for their setup, if so some BEE IT company will be getting the boot, or maybe that's not allowed.

$%#$%#$%#% FNB:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

a whole day plus and no work done - cant check accounts, who has paid what, cards declined, you guys suck:sick::eek:

still down, one can now enter login details but instead of logging on one gets a message that the system is unavailable....

This is really pathetic FNB.... Might be the last straw needed to close my FNB account and move over to Capitec which is a lot cheaper and at least has working internet banking....

Message on Twitter from RB (@rbjacobs) - Great 2 announce that #FNB Online Banking [Helpdesk:0860112244] is available - Let me know if you experience any further problems.

I still get:
We apologise for Online Banking not being available to use currently. Our support team is attending to the problem.
Managed to Log on at about 7:30 this morning and got messages stating that none of my balances were available.

I am flabbergasted. Whoever at FNB decides on when upgrades take place is desperately in need of a calender. Why on earth upgrade during the first weekend of the month. Surely they have some statistics on transaction volumes. Ever heard of SARS? Many of us need to pay our employee taxes tomorrow.

You know what I've realised, there is NEVER a good time to do things, you can choose any time, or any day, and you'll always piss someone off.

Get off your high horse man!

If it needs to be done, let it be done, if it bothers you, accept it that it's for the better and MOVE ON.

This is ridiculous. Waiting for people to pay me, so i can pay other people. When will these idiots at FNB get it right

I got the message that online banking will be regulated. Every 10th refresh or so the login boxes are enabled.
