FNB Private client vs Private wealth

I'd really appreciate some advice. I've been on Level 5 (Premier) for ages and get back a decent amount. I want to move my homeloan from SAHL to FNB and FNB has offered a pretty decent rate IF I move to Private. I've been reading so much about people moving from Private back to Premier because of the eBucks. What's the cost vs benefit when looking at Premier vs Private from an eBucks and monthly account fee perspective?

1st of all, PC or PW?

Premier to PC the earn potential is not as substantial as PC - PW.

Main benefit for me on PW is R10k checkers spend at 15%

Rule of thumb is if you going to be spending a lot of money each month on overheads etc it will be worth it if your buying behaviour is synced with ebucks. Dont go to PC or PW expecting to be earn a substantial amount of ebucks over premier if you only spend R3.55 per month on overheads tho.

I've been on PW and PC and went back to Premier. I haven't found any benefit to the "Private" ranges and the private bankers are pretty hopeless and slower to get an answer out of than the Premier helpdesk - at least from my experience.
This exact reason, I also want to move back, haven't bothered to make that call yet. Is the process easy? Must I go into a branch?

This was a while ago but I just called the PW helpdesk and asked them to downgrade me and they did the process. You will get a new CC and a new CC account which does the usual thing, eventually migrates over and closes the old one.

Premier to PC. I'm keen because of the total reduction from 7% on my homeloan to around 6% if I move. eBucks are a bonus.

The 7% reduction in homeloan should make it worth it in interest fees saved alone.

Play with the ebucks calculator.
Eg no point saving R1000pm on interest i you lose out on R2000 worth of ebucks

IIRC it was said that the metal cards are thicker than the plastic ones, is that correct? How do you guys find the weight of them? Do you prefer your metal card as a credit card or a fusion card?

It is slightly thicker, but still fits in all card machine slots.

With phone tap to pay i haven't used my physical card in months tho

I'm a bit late here. But maybe I can garner support.

eBucks has lost A LOT of ground to UCount and Absa Rewards. Discovery is too convoluted and requires your left testicle in cold storage before you get rewards.

The good old days of PC (before PW existed) you got unlimited 40% vouchers on all, device rebate of R500 pm, higher spend caps, Avis point to point the lost goes on.

To the person who has been on level 5 since 2013, well done sir. Either you have multiple products, over threshold by far and don't need to do much each month, or diligently play the game. Either way very impressive! I am level 5 usually. Miss it once every year or 2.

Waiting patiently for June when the nut gets tightened some more.

Made R3500 last month on eBucks. Please show me how uCount or Absa rewards even come close.
Your response is incomplete. To make an accurate comparison: did you get R3500 value using the 40% discount? Or eB35000? Also to compare to other programs you will need look at amount of spend relative to earn. Some make R3500 on a slow month. That's the reason the caps have been put in place.

Attached is the UCount calculator. It shows R4975 earn potential in a few categories.

Something I am not understanding here.. Spend R100k to get R1250 (bottom of sheet). Also - Caltex spend of R500 gives you a potential earn of R1000 on Tier 5?

So you get R3K for just half filling your tank and spending 10K on your credit card? Seems sus to me.

The Caltex spend is in Litres. 500l x R2 = R1000.

R100k general card spend, 1.25% cash back.

Someone wanted to see how UCounts can come close to R3500.
