Focus ST vs 135i

Any quater mile stats for us?

Clicky linky - it's there. 135i > ST by about 1.5 seconds. Also, note the 0-160 and 0-200 times - the ST wouldn't know what hit it. Specially impressive is the Beemer whipping the ST's dry-track time on Magny-Cours IN THE WET.

NOT the same class of car - the comparison to the ST isn't fair. ;)

The Nordschleife pissing contests are pointless. A 20+km track would maximise the difference between drivers more than anything - you can't hope to have 2 comparable performances around almost a 100 corners!

can we just agree that it wasn't a stock ST and let the thread killing saga continue

ONE way to solve this...

Go and put on GT5 on PS3 and take the most modded ST around the Nurnburgring and then take the most modded 135i around Nurnburgring, then do 1/4 mile test/800m and 1km and top speed runs...

This argument is going on long now...I don't even know what's the argument about anymore, the 135i not being driven hard during the race or the modded ST not standing a chance against a stock 135i...

Have any of you ST haters seen a 230kw ST down teh strip, never mind down the road? That Valva lump is hectic...when it changes gears you hear the POP and its murda!!!

So you're saying that BMW's test driver sucks. :D

Whichever way you look at it, 8:35 is one hell of a time around The Ring if you consider that an S2000 takes 8:39 and a G5 GTi DSG takes 8:53. What is interesting, though, is that a 335i goes around in 8:26 which makes the quoted time of 8:39 for the 135 rather suspiciously slow.

The sad thing about the ST is its an american piece of $h1t with a volvo engine in it.

ALFAHOLIC, dude, I know class moves along swiftly 'round these parts but try to keep up. There's no hate. There's also no argument. Stock 135i > stock ST. Modded 135i >< modded ST, depending on who spent the most money where.

Obviously this specific ST has had work done.

amen brother :)

Class...you dudes can't spell class LOL!

Anyway...the ST was modified, and it killed a 135i, accept it, coz I do.

But once agian, we can't compare a twin turbo 3.0 to a turbo 2.5...just NOT fair.

RS4 is not in the same class as the Beemer

... but neither is the Focus ST in the same league as 135i ;) The Focus ST is GTI league and speed.

Like the majority of posts here point out, it was modded, as a stock (off the showroom) would not beat a 135i. As nice as the Focus ST is, it still achieves above 7 seconds to 100km/h in stock form - both here and the coast

Ya I know it was not stock, but now here the other medieval argument comes in...a modded car beats a stock fast car and the modded car driver acts all glory...is that allowed? I don't think so.

Thus in states you race in classes of times!!! 10sec cars vs 10 sec cars etc.

i blame it on education :P

but ya standard a 135i will kill the ST.

Modded it would depends as said above on how much R's where dropped on the car.

But if you can get your ST to 135i speed, your pushing the engine a little... whereas that 135i engine was made for that.

Nah, it sets a pretty platform for an apology from Pitbull... and JK8...

Why should I apologize

Your link doesn't prove nothing, I have seen the opposite ofcourse :o But hey, what ever rocks your boat I guess. I am till date still to see an 1.35i Drop an ST at drags. Never happened till date, doubt it would :p

If changing the boost qualifies as not standard then the ST is not standard, but kicks 1.35i ass by the turn of a knob :D

Ah, yes... the old defence of tappit draggers being able to circumvent basic physics. Should've expected that. :p
