Forced to use Fibre ISP

I recently moved into a new apartment. Was glad to see that fibre was already installed. So I started shopping for a good uncapped fibre package. I settled on RSA Web that offered a free router and additional LTE sim with 1 gig data/month at a very good price, with no activation fees.

Then I was informed by the body corporate that I have to go with another ISP that installed the router. This other providers packages are more expensive and they dont have great reviews. On top of everything I have to pay R1700 activation fee for them to remotely activate my fibre.This is where I drew the line.

This must be against the consumer protection act or something. I can't imagine its legal to force people into going with a certain ISP and blocking all competitors.

Any advice, thoughts? Or ideas about where I can check on the legality of all of this.
 
Name and shame.

That said I do believe this the body corporate and it's trustees did the voting and agreed to it so they are the ones to be blamed really.
 
Is it a closed fibre provider possibly?
