So what made you throw tens of thousands away by getting rid of it a week after you bought it?

In short, a better car with better safety for the wife and kids. And, that only for 100k, which is not a lot of money when looking at what you get for it.

Besides, in that price range I like the ford better.

I agree fully. This is however not how it works in reality. I'm sure if you kick up enough stink they "might" just give in and give you a new one. It's however very very very unlikely.
Took us 40 000km worth of complaining... 3 incidents where vehicle went into limp mode while overtaking almost causing massive accidents and finally dropping the vehicle in their courtyard and abandoning it to get a replacement vehicle.

Subsequebtly the new one had warped discs... worn steering rack and a steering wheel disintegrating. We are on 21k now.

Irrelevant.

Paying 300K for a brand new car you do not want to have to return it for software updates and repairs within 24 hours.

This is a serious investments. And, yes, with in 24 hours going the legal route because I know how dealerships work. They will try their utter best to rather repair defects than what they refund or replace the car.

If this was a second hand car where faults are expected, I understand, but this is a brand new car that should not have any defects.
A vehicle is not an investment. Unless its the Toyota EtiosCross 2015 not SA Coty.

I probably would have had I not seen online that this was a very common problem on a number of Ford vehicles and all had the same calibration issues. At the time there were no software available and it still appears to be the problem as no one could confirm this.

Also, I probably would have if this was not such a major problem as it currently is.

Then I will go through the same process, get my money back and move onwards to Hyundai and buy myself the IX35.
LOL go for it. Youll love the iX35 if you liked the Etios.
