Ford Ecosport Feedback

I have to agree, I can't see someone, who is driving a VW, moving over to Ford, unless they want to save money on their next purchase. You get what you pay for, I always say. :)

She is currently driving a Vivo 1.4. So unless she gets a death box Go or Kwid, then she won't be saving any money. I have sort of influenced her preference for VW. Both our cars are modded and made to look appealling.

She has seen a few around, and started taking more note of them after I told her its within budget. Initially she was just looking at the Polo, but then she asked what other vehicles were available in the budget. From the ones i mentioned, the ES caught her attention.

She hates Ford mainly for the way they handled the Kuga scandal (she has a strong moral compass).

She initially wanted a Polo GTI but nearly fell down when I told her the price. I'm relieved though because she misbehaves in my car.
, maybe show her the CrossPolo or Opel Mokka X, maybe she wants a higher riding vehicle

The Fords of new are not those shyte boxes like the Cortina and the likes. She'll be pleasantly surprised. But for the love of Gwd, don;t get the diesel...

New Ford vs Second hand polo... No contest!

I'd take the Polo. Better finish. Pano Sunroof. Leather seats. Touch screen radio. Can be lowered and better wheels fitted to make it look better.

Her first option would be a Polo GTI with her coilovers fitted. So it's not a high rider that she wants. For some strange and unsettling reason she looks at the Ecosport and says, I'd like to have that.

Maybe she wants the 20cm ground clearance of the Ecosport (god, why would one wan't to lower a car, speedbumps and sidewalks can easily be climbed).

Lol I agree.. lowering a daily used car is stupid.. if it is for fun sure but not daily use ..

I am looking for some real world feedback of people who drive this car daily.

My wife will be looking for a new car next month.

The initial plan was 2 replace her Polo Vivo with a 1 year old VW Polo 1.2 TSI Comfortline. However, she really likes the Ford Ecosport, and they are in roughly the same price range.

What are the major differences in the varying spec levels?
Which would be the better buy, the 1.0T Petrol or 1.5TD Diesel?

I am not clued up on Ford vehicles so looking for any useful info.

PS. I am not looking for "you should rather buy this car" responses. I am purely doing some research on the Ecosport specifically.

Thanks

Wait for the new model.
Been reading on the new Ford models, they look pretty good.

+100 the world has to wait behind these idiots at a speedbump as they try several angles at 2kmph

Coupled with the hard ride and seeing their heads bopping like those bopping head dolls you get in American movies as they drive on a normal straight road :D

You are referring to botch job lowering. Both our cars are lowered and as I mentioned in anther thread, the ride in my 5 year old modded Golf is very similar to the new Golf 7.5 GTI

^^ This. :D

And it does okay on dirt roads as well. That extra clearance makes it worthwhile.

Either way. I can't tell you what to do with your cars. But with the added info, just get the Polo then. It's the obvious choice :p

The new Polo get's announced in 2 days, shouldn't you wait for that and check if there will be nice specials on the current model?

Gathered infromation

I have been looking into Polo vs Fiesta also. I want to buy one of them soon. Well VW always seems more durable to me because uhm "german machinery" but when I searched a bit, I found that:
Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost Ambiente | VW Polo 1.2 TSI Comfortline
Power: 74kW @ 6000 rpm | 66kW @ 4800 rpm
Torque: 170 @ 1400 rpm | 160 @ 1400 rpm
engine capacity is lower in Fiesta. CO2 emission is lower in Ford (if you care).
Ford has 3 cylinders while Polo has 4 cylinders.
Ford has longer service plan - 4 years compared to Polo's 3 years.
Fuel consumption is ford is said to be lower. Someone needs to test it though..

From these stats I would go for Fiesta 1.0 .. IT seems to be better equipped compared to Polo.. Let me know when you buy and which one you bought.. and drop by a review .. so I can decide with regards to that lol..
Still need to do a test drive to see which one is better though...

Feedback on a eco sport

No because its a ford
Another No because of poorly engineered vehicles that fail with ford trying to dodge any responsibility.
Again No because its a Ford.

On a serious note go test drive one. I personally have had a ride on a bokwa that bounces less than the ecosport when the road in not 100% perfect.

Start a new thread, this will be a nice discussion

Having driving a lot of diesel cars. When I drove the Figo I was frustrated as shyte. I will never buy anything less than 2.0 td. I wanted to pull my hair out of my head. Luckily the wife opted for the 1.4i instead at that stage.

Suppose that depends on your driving style and previous vehicle then :) I'll push the car to it's max sometime when the engine has run in.
