The price of replacement turbos have dropped recently vs 5 to 10 years ago. Also any car its how you take care of the car as well.

As long as the time I can't drive it is the same as the N/A one (meaning, it won't be in the workshop longer due to having a turbo which failed), then all good.

Family has had issues with turbos in diesels, so reason for my hesitance.

A friend of mine got a very good deal on a Focus Ecoboost recently. She has reversing cameras with park sensors it even picks up objects on the side of the vehicle , dual zone climate control. I was looking from moving from the Fiesta titanium to one of those but I will loose leather seats ( and the heated options which is quite nice in the JHB winters) and the keyless entry ( I thought this was a gimmick but after using it for 2 years it just so convenient especially when you carrying stuff.

If you looking for the Ecosport go with a well spec one the basic one sucks, also have a look at the focus they are very underrated cars.

All those are optional, if you buying used, look for the hatchback focus, it was also offered with the styling pack which has leather seats.

The vehicle was with styling pack and safety pack can be easily identified because they have bigger wheels and pdc

Yip, same engine as used in the New Figo, which sucks. Can't say it performs any better then the i10 Grand 1.25...

I have to admit it doesn't feel lazy but bearing in mind mine is a loaner and I drive it as a loaner I take it to about 4000-5000rpm before changing up. Dropping the clutch on take off.

I tried that with datsun-go rental, it still was not going anywhere lol 2nd gear I went up to 60km/h, engine was screaming.

First time ever I red lined a car !

Ive driven the 1.5tdi Ecosport and I think it as powerful as it needed to be. Fuel consumption was good, although I saw 6lt/100. I personally bought the ecoboost 1.0 fiesta (I couldn't afford the ecosport. One shouldn't compare, as they are very different vehicles, but my 1.0 is very quick in comparison. Fuel consumption around 6.5, but I do drive my car hard (I enjoy the turbo and torque too much). Both cars I feel are good. Only problems I have had is the Sync system not connecting, but then dealer sorting that out. If you not too worried about take off speeds and tucking into corners at 70km's hr, then the ecosport will probably be a good choice for lady driver. Just note, the ecosport boot is small in comparison to the ecoboost (fiesta)

It takes awhile getting used to the tailgate in the Ecosport coming from a Fiesta. You do need a good amount of space and with the hydraulic strut it keeps pushing it open - prefer boots that open upwards vs sidewards. Upwards you don't have to worry about much esp in a parking lot those sideways its a ninja move putting your stuff into the car and making sure that the door doesn't hit the car behind you
