Ford Ecosport Feedback

The new Polo get's announced in 2 days, shouldn't you wait for that and check if there will be nice specials on the current model?
Her Vivo is going to its new home at the end of Feb. So ill start looking seriously later in Feb. I'd like to be with only 1 car for as little as possible.

A friend is a salesman at a VW dealer so I'm gonna check if there are good deals on the outgoing model. Might be my first new car purchase.

I would rather she not get the Ford. But she is loving it for some reason.

Start a new thread, this will be a nice discussion
If you compare on paper Vw never comes out as great value. Everything is an option. And they tend to be more expensive. I've found that they do tend to hold value better on trade though. My previous polo 1.4 only lost R20k in value over 3 years of ownership.

You are referring to botch job lowering. Both our cars are lowered and as I mentioned in anther thread, the ride in my 5 year old modded Golf is very similar to the new Golf 7.5 GTI

hard suspension is for performance cars , a GTI is a normal run around so i would expect the suspension to be soft :crylaugh:

The Polo is a popular vehicle, there's always a demand for it so it will always have a good resale value.

Regarding specs, VW will always have less spec than rivals because they make up for it in "attention to detail".

What is the most KM you have heard one of these tiny turbo charged motors?
I once saw a YT video of a senior Ford engineer saying "the 1.0T ecoboost motor has been tested up to 150 000km" as if that was something special.

That is 70k KM more than what I got from my ST motor, so I can understand if he was happy with that result.

The point i was making is that my car is lowered quite a bit (no gap between arch and tyres), but the ride is as comfortable as the new MK7.5 GTI. One of the posters mentioned that a lowered car is uncomfortable.

So I have a loaner for today a Ford Ecosport 1.5 manual I think its NA didn't pop the hood to look for a turbo charger as yet. I have to say very decent power from the 1.5l engine it goes had a few wheel spins on take off :crylaugh:, driving a 1.0 ecoboost with powershift gearbox and driving to Sandton the manual is not a best option would like to see what a powershift version of this car would be like. The one I am driving is pretty basic, wheel caps, electric windows in the front only, manual climate control, no sterring wheel controls, no Bluetooth. I see it has park sensors but lacks the screen that shows you how far the object is. Infotainment system is very basic.

A friend of mine got a very good deal on a Focus Ecoboost recently. She has reversing cameras with park sensors it even picks up objects on the side of the vehicle , dual zone climate control. I was looking from moving from the Fiesta titanium to one of those but I will loose leather seats ( and the heated options which is quite nice in the JHB winters) and the keyless entry ( I thought this was a gimmick but after using it for 2 years it just so convenient especially when you carrying stuff.

If you looking for the Ecosport go with a well spec one the basic one sucks, also have a look at the focus they are very underrated cars.

Okay, what I meant was, if you can choose between the 1.5 Ecosport and the 1.0T Ecosport, rather go for the 1.0T.

1.0T anyday all day hands down. Test drive that car you will be amazed I am amazed everytime I drive my ecoboost. I used to drive a G7 GTI before this and had to change as I was reimbursed by the company for my trips and it sucked on the G7.

Nah, I'd rather be able to keep the vehicle for 10 years without turbo worries...

The price of replacement turbos have dropped recently vs 5 to 10 years ago. Also any car its how you take care of the car as well.
