Which does not make sense, I cannot imagine this rust build up, unless your car was parked for years.Yea perhaps.. some say rust build up
uhmm.. it actually is.. but will see what happens after the service..Is it loud enough that you can record it so we can have a listen?
The car was parked off for a year or so once my dad passed.. so maybe it could be ..? apparently take drum off and clean it out etc and it goes away.. who knows reallyWhich does not make sense, I cannot imagine this rust build up, unless your car was parked for years.
Take the car to a radiator place , as for them to pressurize the water system ( blown head gasket test)Hi guys,
My son is having the exact same issue with his Figo....
Cap keeps blowing off, stripping the threads along with it.
New bottle and cap... Same thing. Happened 4 times now and we still cannot locate the issue.
Water pump replaced. Thermostat replaced. Still same.
This car is really cursed!
OK, that make sense, do that then and see. Rear brake shoes are cheap, I would actually just renew the whole thing, shoes, cylinders and if necessary drums. Knowing what I know about the car being parked for that long you also need to renew the brake fluid as well.uhmm.. it actually is.. but will see what happens after the service..

If you are short for cash then just disassemble and clean and put in new brake fluid, get the system bleeded and you should be good.
Yup happens with my car too once I release the brakes, have been told it's normal and heard my neighbor's Figo also makes this sound whenever he parks his car and releases the brakes. The oaks at Ford told me that it's just the friction points (whatever the hell that is) that needs to be lubricated and it'll go away. My car isn't being driven a lot at the moment but the few times I drove it the sound wasn't there anymore.Any figo boys and girls having break pedal squeek???
now i dont mean worn pads that squeel when braking.. i mean once i release the damn pedal it makes this moffie eeee squeel kak.(sorry.. venting... its early..)
It is rather frustrating.. have been told two things.. brake sliders and rusted drums/shoes ... but not sure... car goign for a service this weekend.. and i am only replacing front pads.. not sure if i should do back too .. annny idea??!!
Its frustrating.. but why did yours just go away???Yup happens with my car too once I release the brakes, have been told it's normal and heard my neighbor's Figo also makes this sound whenever he parks his car and releases the brakes. With my previous service the Ford guys told me to lubricate the friction points which I informed them about with my last service a couple months ago and the noise just stopped. I told my neighbor about this but he didn't seem too interested. Also if your Figo is a 2011 till 2014 model it might be wise to check if the rear twist beam bolt recall has been done as that could also be the cause of that noiseIts frustrating.. but why did yours just go away???
Oh gosh seriously.. so do i take it to any ford for this...? whats the steps...??With my previous service the Ford guys told me to lubricate the friction points which I informed them about with my last service a couple months ago and the noise just stopped. I just think they did it cause I've been servicing my car there since I bought it there and I know the chaps quite well too, could also be due to my endless moaning of the squealing brakes. It doesn't do any harm to find out from themOh gosh seriously.. so do i take it to any ford for this...? whats the steps...??
i dont think it was ever done hay..
OuchOK, so R14000 later, turns out there was a crack in the head which was causing the issue!
So! Anybody want to buy a Figo! Going cheap!

Anyone here know how many belts areon the figo??
i know cambelt and stretch belt... any others??
Yea thats what i was thinking.. apparently power steering belt?? or is this mech bullshitn me?Aren't those the only ones? The cambelt and the stupid stretch belt nonsense from Ford?
If it's the same Duratec that's in the Fiesta the Figo is based on then it is two belts, excluding the cambelt. Don't know which one is stretch and which one isn't, first time I hear of such.Anyone here know how many belts areon the figo??

My car is a 2005 model and has one belt driving everything, power steering, alternator and aircon, some cars from around the same era has two belts. I am not sure about the Figo but it is not exactly a newer Ford, assuming we are talking about the first generation model.Actually come to think of it there is are some vehicles that have a power steering belt, didn't think newer fords were part of the list
