!!! Ford Figo cooling problems !!!

He suggested that perhaps pressure is leaking from the combustion chamber into the coolant channels in the block. Now to test this one can do what is known as a compression test whereby you measure how much compression each individual combustion chamber can hold to a manufactured specified range (usually performed if valves or gaskets are believed to be leaking. Should his theory ring true he would have a low and or progressively lower reading from this test as pressure would be lost to the cooling system.

Maak sin?

So according to your theory, if a valve leaks and the compression test is therefor low, it might imply the pressure is lost into the cooling system.

No, my theory is that pressure can leak into the cooling system, if the valves leak or not is irrelevant.

Hi guys,
My son is having the exact same issue with his Figo....
Cap keeps blowing off, stripping the threads along with it.
New bottle and cap... Same thing. Happened 4 times now and we still cannot locate the issue.

Water pump replaced. Thermostat replaced. Still same.

This car is really cursed!
Hey there, I recently replaced my coolant bottle with one from Goldwagen, but got some advice from the Ford guys and Ford group I'm in. They told me to use the OEM cap for the coolant bottle because the aftermarket ones love to pop off, I've been driving my car for a year now like that and no issues and only use the pink Ford antifreeze. Hope this helps.

Haha moffie squeel, here is your solution:

lol it actually says on the bottle not for brake application....?

Yeah that's because people apply it to their brake pads when they squeak, that is a bad idea for obvious reasons. As you say its your pedal you can apply it on the mechanism there safely.

yea but it aint the pedal... its the brakes themselves.. but i donna where or why :crying::ROFL:

There is a grease that comes with brake pads, I think it is for this problem, since you are replacing brakes hopefully whoever is doig it will use te grease.

YES!!! been a long time.. i have noticed now i have a little squeel from pads i believe.. soo just doign front this weekend and cambelt etc.. normal major service

Ask who ever is doing the brakes if they can apply a bit of copper slip behind the pads.
