Frustrating multiquote/Reply with Quote error!!!

I have multiquoted posts in a thread, yet since there is no "reply" button I have to click on the last quote and click "reply with quote" in order to quote my multiquoted posts.

However, the frustration goes further!!!!
I am not able to "reply with quote" on a single quote without having all other multiquotes listed again and this to exclude the post I want to "reply with quote" to!

Cranky-o-metre is increasing.

Readability

Dark blue text on a light-blue background? No thanks!

Give us BLACK text on WHITE background, the maximum possible contrast for less eyestrain.

Also, how about larger fonts? I really do not wish to wear reading glasses for this forum.

Otherwise the changes are an improvement, keep up the good work.

I'm sorry to say this and I don't normal complain too much about anything but this forum is a complete screw up.
At my age all the funny little envelopes look the same, I cannot tell which post is which, everything is so cluttered it almost impossible to find your way through.
Like this post for instance, I will never be able to find it again as the email points you to the first one.
You need a magnifying glass to read the tiny little fonts.
If ever MyBroadband took a giant leap backwards this it.
Possibly against my better judgment I have joined the 'other' forum but at least there I can find my way around with ease.

i miss the old theme too. you would go straight into the forum and see all the threads on the opening page and then you would navigate around from there. it also seems to me that the forum has lost a lot of the old members and at the same time gained plenty more new people.

How about a poll on this new layout? Probably been suggested before but too much effort to wade through the hectares of white space...

I agree that the old theme was simpler, and I hope we can design a theme similar to it soon. For now we are however stuck with this one :(

It was simpler, but it also seems that it was more functional. The new one really does take more effort to get the same things done.

I do however hope that we can at least get it to the previous forums functionality(looks and "button" wise :))

But while we wait I'll just be wearing these --->

:D

What happened to the thread status indicators? The red envelopes for hot topics have disappeared and they're now all blue?

If you hold in CTRL and scroll your mouse wheel, it automatically changes the font size of text on any webpage. My apologies if you were aware of this tool already, but this may help you in general, not just on this forum.

The new forum feels much sleeker I the search results can be improved to be more usable.
1. Have the post date/time as a column in the results.
2. Allow for sorting of the results by the various columns. ( Title, Poster, Date/Time(new) )
3. Number the search results. this will help when navigating back to the result to quickly know which post you looked at last. This would be very usefull in the thread search.

Overlooking all the required requests from everyone which would be welcome, I kinda like the new look, kinda ties in and completes the overall Win 7 experience :D

Themes or at least improve the colour choices. Far too much fancy shading. Poor contrast.

Increase font size in the reply/post field.

Are these bugs or configuration errors:
Link to post in a quote does not work
Sometimes clicking Multi-Quote acts like hitting reply, and it doesn't even include the message that was selected
Sometimes not all messages selected for Multi-Quote show up when replying

Simpler is often better. Flashy, cool looking interfaces can easily become much harder to use and distracting. And I say that as someone that loves things to be colourful and look cool.

That's not a solution because it resizes all the text. The text size in posts is a reasonable size, but that in the reply/post field is tiny.

Another bug. May have been mentioned before.

When you click on the number of replies to a thread in a subforum it gives a list of who posted (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/misc.php?do=whoposted&t=213432) however, then when you click on the number of posts by a user, it takes you to all the threads that user created instead of the posts in the specific thread by the user. (if any of that makes sense)

I mentioned this one before but clicking on "View Post" of a quote takes you to the OP instead of the post in question. Very annoying in TK where misquoting is the norm:D:D

This might have been mentioned.
I get logged off after a while. (not sure how long I stay logged in). If I was was busy replying to a post, it will not accept the reply. In the old forum there would be an option to log in again at the bottom of the post. If you used that option to log in your reply would have posted. If you did not use the bottom login, but rather the one at the top, the reply would be lost and you would have to retype everything.

In the new forum the bottom option to login again is sometimes available, other times not. Not sure if this is related in which thread I was. Could that option of the bottom login carried through the whole forum please.

I hope this make sense.

JA whats with the with that? do our accounts automatically log of after 15 minutes or something?
