Forum improvement suggestions

Hi, my little issue is that the quoted posts are a bit more wavy than normal for italics - makes it a bit difficult to read, especially for long passages.

Hi Smooth Criminal - you prefer the red ones? We can bring that back...

Yes please :) It makes it easier to keep track of the more active threads.

The problem is that each thread appears the same, making it a bit more difficult to distinguish the more active threads from the less active ones (the thread post count is too far from the title, so the red indicator worked great for this purpose).

I must say that I find the interface "cleaner" .. it feels more spacious ... OK, enough of the touchy-feely stuff!

Issues:
In Hybrid mode, I can see which posts are new, but if I click on one, it just jumps to the 1st post in the thread. I'm doing a LOT of hunting through threads & it gets to the point where you just give up.

Searching for certain 3 letter terms (Was also an issue in the old forum). I have an HTC HD2 cell-phone, and am a MTN customer ... It's just a tad difficult to narrow searches for those items!

The colours are better, in my (admittedly semi colour-blind) opinion, but I do agree that the background could be more muted ... it's too bright.

The fonts in the reply & new post boxes are too small.

I think the search functionality could be improved. It seems cumbersome and does not give you the results you are looking for, for example, I wanted to know what mybroadband posts there were about kindle. I gave up on the search and used google to search mybroadband instead.

Just my 2c.

Mods: Please fix (or have it fixed) the "jump to first unread post"! It has been reported numerous times, and every time I access the forums again, I hope for some improvement, but alas... :(

E-mail notification for threads you are subscribed to seems to take a long time to notify you of replies

Can't multi quote all of a sudden. If I hit the multi quote button it goes straight to advanced reply without giving me a chance to select more posts to quote.

when i click on "find all posts by" then it shows what THREADS they posted in, not the actual POST itself

it SUUUUUUUCKS that way!

like the rest of the forum now though - feel comfortable!

Yes, I miss this as well.

Secondly, the old member's stats page also had 'find all threads started by X'; possible to have that back?

Show all posts

Keeper, once you have all the threads listed, go to the right hand column and click on the arrow next to the poster's name; that takes you to X's post.

Is there any news regarding a darker theme? Or did I miss something?
I am actually getting used to the white but would still prefer something slightly darker.

Regarding the Red, Blue and Grey icons next to the thread. I understand it is to show the "hotness" of a thread, but almost every thread becomes "Hot" and then everything looks the same.

If possible. Can we not have the colors indicate between Read/Unread posts?
Blue/Grey if you have read all new posts, and Red for unread posts in a thread.
If you scan/scroll quickly with the current settings, the Blue and Grey looks almost the same.

Agree, I used that option a lot on the previous version.

Also, is it possible to make the font size bigger in the actual Quick Reply window you type in? The font is quite small.
