Forum Upgrade

I like it. maybe a bit too "airy" for me but its probably cause i was used to the other theme for so long. this one does feel nice to use though.

Oh yes I would also like the reply font a little bit bigger. I'm on a 24" LCD and actually cant see what im typing here. :)

[EDIT : Also, not sure if its my screen but the contrast on the smileys is not good, i cant make them out much ] :love: <- that one appears to have NO contrast issues however :)
 
Looking awesome but only thing is, where do I log in?? I caouldnt find it. I wanted to reply to a thread and when I did it gave me the option to log in then
 
It lost my login account/password (was risingtide). I tried to have the password e-mailed but it refused to accept that the cell company with the yellow color is the one with 3 letters only.
 
very nice and will need time to get used too but as Lance said the writing is small when you type out a reply ad maybe some peple might have trouble reading what they are typing.
 
whats going on at the top of the page next to classifieds? I see its written photos but there is a search bar over the word so its half blocking it out.

What browser Wayne as it is all fine on Firefox 3.6 for me? Mine shows classifieds, photos, IT jobs and then the search bar off to the right. You browsing on a phone or something with a small screen?
 
I must be the only one that sorta don't like the new look.. must be the colour sceme - too wishy washy for my taste! Looks too drawn out!

Not that I'm ungrateful or anything... an upgrade of software is always good... Just the look needs more tweaking!

Lance, I am using google chrome on my normal crt desktop screen.

yea, you can't tap into that bar at the top where you could check on your old threads.. unless i'm blind and just can't find it... But the new toolbar is rather frustrating! The buttons and where they were should be back in that order! :(

and the smileys sux now!

I reset the question and tested it - seems to be working now.

Simlies: I agree...I was also disappointed. They are small and unclear...will add the old smilies soon :)
 
I see i posted in the wrong thread, i'll move what i said over.

It's got potential, i just think it needs to be cleaned up a bit as there are to many random buttons and images which distract from the post. For instance, If you're not logged in the "Blog this Post" button isn't visible which looks alot better. The theme needs to be scrubbed of unnecessary clutter.

If you go to http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/forumdis...SP-Discussions , the red badges on the left are over powering and need to be made more subtle.

Also, the automatic use of italics in the quotes is distracting and unclear.

The quotes are italicized, surrounded by darker quote blocks, and have a quote symbol each and everytime.

Thats 3 things saying the same thing, it should only be one.
 
TBA, I prefer the old one more. I am not saying I don't like this but the older one is more... old. One of the reasons why I love this forum is because of the great and simple infrastructure. Guess thats gone :( Buy I will get used to it
 
Thanks for the feedback so far. We will certainly hack away at this theme in the coming days and weeks: just wanted to upgrade successfully first. So please keep the suggestions coming.
 
Okay, the view first new post doesn't work. It just takes you to the top of the last page you read, but you still have to scroll down to the first unread post. :erm:
