Found a telkom Billion Router

In my cupboard, must belong to my cousin who moved overseas permanantly - any reason I should use it over my current netgear (besides the fact that its wireless)

Is it the Billion 400G? I had problems with that Modem, the Wi-Fi kept disconnecting, sometimes it did not even broadcast the Wi-Fi network. I now have the Telkom Netgear DGN2200Mv2, it has had its problems, but now it is fine (after downgrading firmware). So If I was you, I would stay with that Netgear Modem.

I have the 400g too and it constantly disconnects, POS! Don't go anywhere near that thing!
