Ag FFS! Wooopeee, lets try the tried and tested methods that lead to a FUBAR telecoms environment. Perhaps we're lucky and this time for the first time in human history prices will magically come down, telephone lines will magically install themselves in people's homes and government employees will through some intergalactic explosion of cosmic luck, decide to boost their moral obligation to mankind and get super productive by servicing more customers than any company with a competitive drive in history. This is why Africa is so over developed and economically successful. Yeah! I love Ivy. She's so selfless...

Oh yes, oh yes... And to complete the transformation it will be necessary to redesignate 'customers' as 'subscribers'. "You want a phone line - its 10squillion ZimBenLeone Dollars; you're lucky to have access to a phone at all, it's a privilege not a right."

The price isn't important, just so long as the government gets all that lovely money to balance the books...

What idiots...this is clearly the truth:

Because of both staggering incompetence and wholesale corruption, the incumbent telco, Benin Telecom has debt totalling US$20 million. Although this has been restructured, the next payment is due in January so the Government is trying to acquire revenues to pay for the incumbent’s corrupt incompetence.

Just shows you that some big ego need to be cuddled and stroked... by having a company protected with a monopoly... :rolleyes:

Disband that company and sell its assets off to get rid of the debt, and get a private company in to handle the business...
 
Just look who is in charge... then look closer at home and see who is in charge....

They all bloody corrupt.

African Telecoms

Aah, African Telecoms seem to be as progressive as Manto and her Potatoes, Thabo and his blinkers, Poopi and his promises, Selebi and his honesty.... the list is endless.........................

Next thing you know, all these progressive regimes will ban the wheel, unless it's used on vehicles hired from them (for national security and to increase the quality of the service)

Maybe in 400 or 500 hundred years, they will catch up to where Europe is today..........................
 
I hope BoB reads this thread and can see what he has done and our big shots in SA who get everything for zip can see how coms are so important to any country.
