So it seems I also joined the cool kids club for once in my life

Had my system installed by Smart Tech Solar just after the start of the month.
Would definitely recommend them if you are planning to do a install soon.

Now some pics before I start messing around with more trunking on the right for my HA install.

Three Powerline 5 Batteries with space left for two more to the left

Everything on essential with a Sunsynk 8kw inverter and 16 Trina 550w panels WNW. Big old Brazilian Kapok tree on the east side of the house that my wife doesn't want to get rid off, so working with what I can.

So far so good, might produce 1MWh solar this month if today stays as sunny as it is at the moment.

Busy getting supplies together to put the pond and pool on CBI Astutes, and to mount an 4U network cabinet to the right near the ceiling for my HA NUC. Got a second geyser installed in series to the current one upstairs, so now don't have to run any geysers for the morning shower. Then it's smart lights switches everywhere and integrating them all along with the two Tuya Geyserwise units in HA.

Congratulations. That's a lovely install. And glad you went with a quality battery

Thanks, it was BSL or Freedom Won/Pylontech but settled on these because of the brand and how sleek they look against the wall.
This is in the garage but batteries pushed up the WAF a lot.

CT connected correctly te send excess solar to non essentials?(provided eskom is on)

Why are your batteries not evenly charging?Screenshot_2023-08-31-13-08-37-95_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

Nice. You are not f king around with install #1.

Amazing looking install, congrats!
What did your daily/monthly usage look like before install?

Photo might've been taken when they were moving?
Correct, was on the day of go live when everything was charging. We had 5 days of no power, or should I say power rotation in Centurion when the install was happening. 2 days before install and the 3 days of installation. Was real crappy sitting with all the panels and batteries in the garage and not having it working during that period.

Wife said if we spend so much money do it decent so she doesn't have to worry about loadshedding and if she can use power.

Between 950 and 1350kwh per month, depending on the weather and how much the tumble dryer was run.
Koi pond and 1.1kw pool pump eats thru power it seems :X3:

Congrats on a very nice setup!

Now count how many times a day you are standing in front of that screen

Thanks. In the first two weeks more than I would want to admit, but now only when I go thru the garage to get something

Looks great. I really dig the BSL batteries. 15 year warranty is terrific.

A suggestion would be to have a busbar installed for the batteries. The sooner the better.
