Screw that! Now I don't blame Cybernet, they're playing the card they've been dealt. But it is obviously indicative that this country is overly expensive, since Cybernet won't accommodate 4mbps users on the same conditions.
I was looking at Afrihost hosting solution and it costs the same for 2Gb traffic locally or 20Gb hosting on their international servers. Now Afrihost are known to be more than fair (R14.50 per Gb ADSL!), which means we're probably the most expensive country in the world to host in! At least 10x more than the USA...
Sad, but thanks to Telkom a reality. So this means less jobs for South Africa, thanks to the government sponsored parastatal Telkom because we cannot have hosting centres nor call centres.
