Free iBurst bandwidth after midnight

According to my figures, up & down traffic came to about 55GB, though the usage report on the iBurst website had me at over 60GB. So I'm certainly not complaining in terms of the use I got out of the service. I am, however, still none too pleased in terms of the accuracy of the monitoring software, and have yet to receive feedback from iBurst regarding the odd after-hours download being deducted from my paid data allocation.
If that can be sorted out, and the service is priced reasonably, then iBurst is on to a winner here, but the monitoring issue needs serious attention.

2 Modems can easily make 1.7Mb/s. So again, 170GB (well, more than that actually) is possible "in theory"

Maybe go back and see what was written before try and defend your incorrect maths
With 2 modems you need 2 accounts as you are not supposed to be able to use 2 modems on the same account at the same time ( according to .
the accounts people , although you can have 2 modems registered on the same account)

So why not just say 10 modems and 10 accounts and then you theoretically can do 800GB+ .

I am not factoring in the defective bandwidth management or logon systems in the calculations.

Maybe YOU should "go back and see what was written before" on this thread?
Go back and read "per account" on my post, then stop and think for a while that you can actually have 2 concurrent connections at once. Funny enough, I do have 2 modems [how about you read back a few pages or check out my benchmarks?] and they both connect off the same login thus monitoring will relfect for both... so you can get 170GB+ on the usage report. There, maths defended.

Well I "came late to the party" but according to the usage emails I used nearly 29 Gb in after hours use...

Nope you are not supposed to be able to have two 2 concurrent connections off the same account :) . You can link 2 modems to the same account , but should only be able to connect one at any one time. ( This was initially for people who has a UTC and UTD for when they were @ home and on the road )

If you had read my POST FULLY you would have seen I allready said that I was not factoring incorrect logon systems into my equations.

But either point asside , I can now see the Iburst reps & Jannie reading that you are able to connect 2 modems concurrently on the same account with interest lol. I can imagine a few people being quite pissed at you for bringing this to their attention :) . This would change their bean counter numbers quite considerably. This was actually the topic of a long discussion between Mnr Green and myself way back in the beta days as I wanted to team up 4 x 64kb capped devices to get a 256kb stream.

...btw does iBurst still support that "2 connections at a time" thing? :D

Considering that r00igev@@r is an iBurst rep, and he confirmed it. And even when I got the 2nd modem it was confirmed as well, and the fact it's been iBurst's policy since they started and the fact i specially requested it and got it too...

So where you got this "you aren't allowed 2 connections at a time" I don't know. Perhaps you are trying far to hard to 'prove me wrong'.

Interesting ... I have emails that say the opposite.

Nope this was before the VAS's were in existance. I tried that route during the beta and then asked again about 6 to 8 months ago.
We wanted to try and setup a 2 device load sharing firewall.
I have forwarded this on to a friend lol as he also enquired about the exact same thing a few months back and was told to buy 2 accounts. I am also going to give him my 2 UTD's and get him to try a 4 modem setup.

Well, still without cap after disconnecting my modems for an entire day. Still sapping my cap during afterhours.

R00iV@@r doesnt seem to care too much. Been 3 days and im yet to get a word from there. iBurst helpdesk are about as useful as this iBurst 'rep' character.

Sounds like some weasel has misinformed you to perhaps get 2 sales [and more money] out of you. The limit is 2 concurrent connections per account[I beleive], don't think 4 will work. Just remember that modems are linked to your account so you'll need to link your modem on your (or your friends) account [and make sure they don't unlink your other modem].

It appears that someone else was told that youtube and p2p will sap your cap, I can't confirm this but something to be aware of. If you are p2ping, maybe try not doing that and do a normal download and see what happens? I would like to see the results.

Yes there are but what about the content? I am interested in things like Top Gear, old TV series like McGuyver etc. Where does one find these except on torrents?

Some say... that the first rule of fight club, is not to talk about... oh wait, wrong reference. I do not support piracy... but:

Newsgroups
DC++ [very popular on iburst early on...]
Rapidshare type servers

Ps. Piracy is wrong. Just say no. Avoid the above mentioned.

I have to say, after my initial concern that data was coming off my bundle, I've been happy with the process. No wrong allocation that I've noticed, and I'm still on my original booster. That said, PLEASE don't go and mess up MY account now please!! Or I'll revoke my Bubbles "fan" status! :-)

Bubbles has fans????? Only 10 http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/group.php?groupid=115

And I'm still throttled. Any info Ronald?

Edit: I would buy a booster to see if that helps but that would be a waste as tomorrow its the 1st :/

Edit 2: got over it and bought a booster and now have normal speeds. Now to see if my booster is still in tact tomorrow morning.

Have replied via PM. Bubbles will check tonight himself by self-throttling. I hope he doesn't kill himself.

There is no issue. If you have a speed based service and use multiple modems then the limit is the theoretical maximum that a single device can achieve. If you are using your bucket then using multiple devices results in the bucket being depleted quicker.

Please PM me you account and contact details and I'll have a usage report generated.

So I get my reports at 7:16am

1st of may, 7:16am:

Uploaded 394.71 MB
Downloaded 698.03 MB
Total In-Bundle Data Usage 1,092.75 MB

This shouldn't be included in the "in bundle usage"

(My remaining is still correct: Total Data Remaining 5,968.21 MB)
