I'm sure for the guys in the other thread, it'll be better than the R9,000 - R12,000 bills they're getting from MTN.
 
MTN is not protecting their proxy. I have managed to bypass it sort off. Its so easy. Knowledge is power. Still needs some work. I'm not cracking/hacking ect ect. I'm not into that. Simple flaw in MTN connection. I will give you a little hint. the bypass makes the connection think its sending/receiving mms data.

I remember reading a thread about it.
What is it about? Over billing?

Maybe they are punishing you for your brother's deeds.

Nowhere did I state that I paid for this. I was sent a TRIAL version that is slower than the pay one.

OK, I admit, I re registered as Oopsie just for that old post and pretended it was my boet. But as I said, I did give all the details to MTN. Method and all. Even gave the details to the MTN moderator on this forum.
 
Maybe the 1 that set up this fancy nancy connection also took the billing into account and set it to some one or some thing that wouldn't notice it, and also that its charged at 0.20c p /mb ant R2 p/mb as we humble citizens pay.
Perhaps the 1 or many responsible for setting up this sweet internet should pay for the damage incurred by their actions......including the bill of others that used it merely coz a friend told them how to do it....and they never realized the impact coz they just not tech savvy and just thought about wot a god sent this is coz they can't even afford to buy bread now they can go online...apply for jobs, dowload porn.....oops hehe, seriously though not everyone is in the loop bout wot goes on. True that u just need common sense to deduct an outcome...but common sense is not as common as some might think.

Maybe i 'll just tell mtn how its done and let it all go to rest....perhaps save others from racking up a huge bill due to lack of common sense.

I remember years ago when I hosted a site that had al the info needed for exploiting the loopholes in our cellular networks data service.

Most of it was done using a free proxy tunneling application and the right configurations. Between 5 of us we used quite a bit of bandwidth but that was long before RICA.

Vodacraps Vlive service was the most exploited as Vodacrap left the holes open for us to exploit.

I must admit MTN wasn't as easy and still isn't. I have gotten a break now and then but not too often.

Best way to go is still Virgin @ 50c/MB just link up to a vodacrap 3G tower, simple and legal!
 
I had a laugh reading this old thread, I was wondering if anyone ever heard of MTN doing anything about it?
 
my brther s cell c sim card did they same during 2007 and 2009 he didnt have to do anything though it was just free with airtime or no airtime he could access the net downoad aand play game,but he says doesnt anymore
 
I think my uncapped happened about 5 years ago. I would buy two R5 MTN airtime vouchers, load the one and surf the net until I was on 10c, load the next R5 and have uncapped for 3 months.

The airtime would somehow stuck at 10c. I never disconnected my phone for that whole 3 months but unfortunately I couldn't download much since my phones fastest speed was GPRS.

Never checked if it worked again.

Mine too, I actually went and bought an MTN sim because of the uncapped internet but sadly on GPRS you couldn't download much. Mine worked without airtime.
 
Ya me too :-D I used this old 10c stuck bug on my old motorolla v550 cellphone. Had about 3hours worth of gprs downloads and then battery flat. Charge 4 hours. Re-connect to pc and download again. Took me the whole of my december holiday to download an iso of silent hill for the pc. Later I managed to get more technical and used special apps to get past some other loopholes, by that time I had a 3g card, and I was able to download substantially more and faster. Tbh now that im employed, and got dsl. I cba to hack any network provider anymore >.>
