Free Socks and Proxy Server...

Ok firstly my reply in no way meant any harm. eash sticky subject!

Well if i could spead up my connection would mean the worlds diff.

Remember you might not have any speed issues but i share with 2 ppl so any alteration to get speed or service i could use will help alot.

PS. clipse send me a mail on your service and what you offer.
[email protected]

lol snoopy, sharing one line with 2 people and then using proxy on the one of the pc(if I understood you right) wont make your line total speed increase.

What I meant with me having no p2p problems on my torrents, I get my full 50-55k/s on my 512k line with torrents.

By all means if this proxy works for you and its free, please do use it, it just wont help you once your capped.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Still connection is slow. about 17KB per person (3rd person not using)
thats 34 KB in total ----- and the rest?

ok

how about your service are you going to mail me ;)

lololololol

How do you go about it to connect to this proxy???..What i mean is, do you actually "bypass" telkom's login?? ( sorry if i'm a bit stupid ) lol

Snoopy
Clipse's vpn offers unshaped bandwidth on all protocols. It means you can play international games, use Skype etc no matter what "mood" Telkom's port shaping is in.

Clipse's proxy is a LOCALLY hosted proxy so if your international bandwidth is capped you can connect to his proxy and access international sites via his bandwidth.

Robin, no u still use telkom. All this does it "relay" what you are doing via a line thats got a higher priority, so you get faster download speeds.

most applications have a setting in them where you can select a socks or proxy server.

mmmm...that's what i thought......thanks :-)

Out of curiosity, I thought Telkom had implemented Packet shaping so regardless of port the content of the packet determines if if should be shaped, I stand corrected on this however!

hence using socks... the packets are identified as socks traffic till it gets to beeps sever.. from there is converted back to regular traffic

Hey Friends,

I have made another improvement to the server. Please let me know if speeds improve.

Thanks
MrBEEP

Thanks Mrbeep. Is there a way to let us know how much traffic has gone through since you started it?

Hey Wise,

The latest update from our start around Thursday last week was 48GB.

The server was down a bit during the weekend though because of the VPN setup currently executing.

But yeah! It's going strong!

Is it possible to use this socks/proxy to get Skype working properly. I entered the Socks info into Skype, but it does not make any difference to (incoming) voice quality.

I ask again.

Thanks for the update. I guess I have you to thank or to blame for the fact that I am reaching my cap so fast :D

Well should that happen I'll just buy 30gigs more.

Hey leon,

I have never personally used Skype...

Try entering the details again. The server's speed was doubled about 10 minutes ago. It should help.

Anybody have Saix experience?

Tried it again, but dont see any difference. My other p2p apps runs much faster, however (Azureus, etc.). I can live with "slow" downloads, but making a Skype call is very fustrating. Get break-ups etc.

Something else. When does one use the Socks server, and when the proxy server - what applications/programs.

Proxy you will generally use with Web browsers.

Socks you can use with applications like P2P etc.

Thx,
MrBEEP

WOW Dude!! I've been using it for the whole weekend and last night and it rocks! We need more peeps like you to provide services that don't fill their pockets with our cash....

Unlike some oke on here that will continue downplaying your service just because he is going to lose the people that used his service before they reach their caps.

Ofcourse the capped users will continue using his "solutions". He is more expensive than Telkom! Funny....and people actually use it!!
