Haven't had a broken archive in years. I can remember getting a game zipped across 40 disks or something and #38 won't extract. WTF!!!

If you want basic extraction, then yes.

Tried to migrate over to 7zip from Winrar (switched default app, kept both installed). After the 3rd case where 7zip couldn't extract something that Winrar could I gave up on 7zip.

7zip seemed solid enough interface etc wise, but I don't need that kind of fail rate in my life.

I've used 7zip for many years and not once had a failed extraction. Seems weird that you had problems.
