Free wireless user group under fire from ICASA

The incompetent idiots at ICASA can go suck my .. uhm .. wireless highsite.

ICASA unfortunately did not respond to requests for information, and could therefore not provide shed light on the current investigation and clarify what is required from WUGs to ensure they are on the right side of the law.

That is the problem. ICASA does not provide feedback or any communication. Specifically related to the media.

Free Wireless Network investigated by ICASA

;)

This investigation may actually turn out to be a good thing. ICASA will have to say what licenses, if any, are needed to operate such a high site, and this will then give guidance to WUGs around the country as to what ICASA’s interpretation of the current regulations is. Clarity regarding this issue will be great.

BTW: ICASA had to investigate the site after they received complaints, so I don't think they are the bad guys here. The person who complained started this action...

ICASA can't even respond to their own bodily functions... why do you think they would respond to a normal request from the member of the public? Who the hell do you think you are anyway... bothering these important people in the [-]non[/-]performance of their functions??

ICASA couldn't shed light on a football field with a 3000 watt Halogen globe. ICASA cannot clarify a glass of muddy water with a $10,000 US department of Defense field water filtration system.

Seriously... expecting these guys to think like humans is asking a but much. You'll put their brains into an infinite loop.

BTW... that stupid neighbour needs a taai klap as well. ;)

Most importantly, how the hell did this neighbour get ICASA to actually do something? I want to know their secret!!!

The fact that one of these poepals managed to find the door to his office, assemble some testing equipment and find the right address is a miracle. You give them too much credit, rpm!

My first thought as well! Having dealt with ICASA trying to get a community radio station license and then later as a radio HAM, getting any response is impossible. Quickly, send this person all our queries!

Wel, dalk kan ons wuggers nou "one-and-for-all" die gemors agter die rug kry. Dis jammer dat dit moet gebeur, maar ons kan dan die ICASA verslag aan daai vrou se voordeur vasplak.

Who really cares what ICASA thinks? What are they going to do anyway? They have no teeth.

Anyone know how far the WUG spreads out in PE, does it cover Bluewater Bay?

EDIT - not really worried about the spineless ICASA with their toothless bite, would be great if my area is covered by the PE WUG

If she's of the tin foil hat persuasion I suggest finding a large dish and pointing it down at her property just for fun. Hot-rod fire decals would add sizzle.

If this is a case of granny-panties in a twist, then I suggest writing off such silliness to old age and letting them be.

Perhaps we should arrange a Braai at CW.

On the other hand, if the WUG is interfering with her ability to use WiFi in her own house, she may have good reason to complain.

If the HighSite is within legal power range and band (which it should be as it is a standard rule for the WUG), then you might as well say that she might be interferring with the WUG?
