Thanks man. Difficult one. Maybe your original link was best (I just have a thing about auto-downloads, and music 'automatically' assuming it is more important than what I am playing at the moment. The sound file is obviously tied to the video file.) What can I say? Interesting though. Thanks. (Pity we live in such a bandwidth starved environment.)Metal!

So in essence you are saying a black perspective shouldn't be heard unless it's accompanied by a white one...basically agreeing that he should have suspended the debate until a "black on white racism" example was found? I think it's true that sometimes people are prejudiced without even realsing it.Well considering Mbeki himself in his speech discussed the merits of finding out the perspectives of others:
I think it's not unreasonable to expect him to practise what he preaches, and maybe have found out a white person's perspective before making the speech.
Again, my point is that in the spirit of inclusiveness it would have been nice if whites were included, instead of being pointed at. I'm not making excuses, I'm merely saying that I think Mbeki's handling of the situation could have been carried out with a little more finesse.

not even just a particular racial group, the whites, unfortunately, it is quite generalising, as definately not all whites are like the examples he's chosen, they are most definately by far in the minority, and not representative of the whites in za....I just find it ironic, and a little disappointing, that in his attempt to extoll the virtues of being non-racial, our president singles out a particular racial group....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaffir_(ethnic_slur)The etymology of the word is from the Arabic word "kafir", a derogatory term for "infidel" or "non-believer". This was the word the Arab slavers and traders used to describe the Africans who were not Muslim.
Yeah we get called "kafir's" all the time by Islamic fundamentalists.
While it might mean "unbeliever" that in a Muslim context the use of it by people here in South Africa in the Afrikaans language it has become a rather derogatory racial insult.
Also your rather idiotic defense of this bygone derogatory term along with another poster here just shows us your true colours.
Damn talk about a bad case of "victim mentality"

Apologies to you Alanf85 as I obviously misinterpreted your posting.
A victim mentality ... not at all ... just tired of hearing the words like that and "hotnot" uttered in my presence in 2007 ... they obviously thought I had a nice ****ing suntan.
