French Elections 2017

What was the point of the question? He knows you're french, not English. How does you being African French (instead of just french) answer his English 1st language question?

Well, that's he's asking if I'm African french. I'm answering just french.

How is that not answering the question ?

Maybe he's wondering if I start to like Macron because I was an immigrant in France.

I'm not criticizing you just wondering at Patchy's motivations which are always sinister.

Yes. An immigrant would like Macron because he is pro mass immigration. Pretty obvious.

But he's already there in France. Why would he want more immigrants?

My father in law for example, an immigrant in the UK voted for Brexit because he said there were too many immigrants

Macron is in favor of open borders.

I guess around 6 million new migrants from the 3rd world in the next 5 years.

The French people dont fully understand the impact of their vote......yet.

We have open borders for 20 years + and get a net migration of little more than 100 000 people per year which is good because it balances the average age of the population which is aging quick and costs a lot in health and retirement.

Can I also migrate to France and live there?

Provided that you fulfill the conditions for asylum, work visa or invest 10 millions euros, you can like anybody else can.

The conditions of asylum being what exactly? Because the last two years has seen everyone and their dog get granted asylum for no particular reason. There's a reason they're called "migrants" these days instead of "refugees", they don't actually meet the criteria of the latter ...

Refugee is one of the types of asylum with subsidiary protection.

I'll let you read here http://www.asylumineurope.org/reports/country/France/asylum-procedure/procedures/dublin

The rejection rate is 67% which was making 19000 asylum applications granted in 2015.

http://www.asylumineurope.org/reports/country/FRANCE/statistics

Around 50000 are granted in South Africa... http://sihma.org.za/news_item/2015-asylum-statistics-south-africa/

You didn't answer. Why would the forumite be in favour of more immigration just because he is an immigrant?

Back to my example, some of the most ardent anti immigration people are immigrants themselves.

Yet France's total from 2014 to 2016 sits at over 100,000 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34131911)

That puts France roughly 4th in Europe in terms of who let the most migrants in, so again, the criteria for asylum must not be very strict or they've not been applied in the last 3 years. On the upside, France is much better at curbing the flow than the crazy Germans with their half a mil influx.

100000 is the number of asylum applications, if you check the last graph you see the ones granted are 20000.
