Frogfoot provides free services to schools in their coverage area.

I look after the computers at a school in their area. I am an alumnus of the school in question.

The owner of an ISP in Somerset West is also an alumnus of the school. She lodged an application for free service for the school for the second time on 17 October 2020. I say the second time, as the first application lodged in 2019 disappeared into the ether.

I am in possession of the FRG number for the line, as well as a screenshot on the Frogfoot portal, that shows:

10:24 17/10/2020
This zone is live
Order accepted and progressed
Build and installation assigned to a contractor who will make contact...

And everything has come to a grinding halt.

Nobody at the school, nor the ISP has heard anything from the contractor.

I've even gone so far as to prep for the contractor. The Frogfoot boundary box about 20m from the router. We've trenched, laid conduit into the boundary box and even pulled through a draw string. All that needs to happen is for the contractor to push the drop fibre in, splice it and plug the ONT in.

How do I get this project moving?

Escalate to your ISP, they're your service provider and you need to hold them accountable not let them pass the buck.

The ISPs and Frogfoot will in turn have their own escalation routes.

Done that.

As I said. I have a screenshot of the FF ISP portal. ISP escalates. A certain "Lyndall Arries" just ignores. Maybe there's a FF rep here who can help? @Frogfoot Fibre ?

Frogfoot are useless. They were down more times last year over a 3 week span (by some margin!!) that I was down when using Telkom ADSL over an 8 year span.
I'll be chucking them when my installation date is done, and Vox can go with them.

Do Vumatel or another FNO not do the same? Otherwise go to HelloPeter and lodge a complaint there. And their Facebook page.

Drop me a PM with the details, will see if we can assist.

There's a big difference between you escalating to your ISP (which you said you've done), and your ISP escalating to Frogfoot (which appears hasn't happened). Who is the ISP, why not post in their sub-forum or tag them?

Which part of "I have seen the ticket on the Frogfoot portal" do you not understand?

The ISP is Cape Connect. As I previously said, I was at school with the owner. It's for our school. I'm not talking to a plebbie in a call centre, I'm talking to the person where the buck stops in the ISP.

The ISP has escalated on multiple occassions.

Good morning, our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused. Could you kindly send us a message with your FRG number in order for us to assist?

@Frogfoot Fibre As you are aware, I have been party to all the emails between the ISP and yourselves regarding this matter since I started this thread.

Thank you to everyone in Frogfoot who has done what was needed for this service to go live today.

I trust your employee who undermined the commissioning of this service has been dealt with in the harshest manner possible.

It is unfortunate that people have to resort to social media, but please know I started this thread as a last resort - figuring something untoward was afoot. As it turns out, it was...
