Stay away. My in-laws have gone with Openserve (which has its issues when it comes to logging calls, but don't seem to go down randomly like FF do).

Problem is I'm led to believe (by Telkom rep) that Frogfoot is the only service provider for the area in question. Also Telkom will no longer activate an ADSL line and I'm allergic to LTE/Rain so what other option is there?

Then you either stick with ADSL or you go with Frogfoot and make sure it's not a long-term contract. Bear in mind that you get "free" installation as long as you use their service for a year to pay it off. Once you have another option, then you look at something else.
LTE/Rain is a no-go and certainly for my in-laws. but in their case Openserve ran the fibre across the telephone lines above ground.

Odd, Andries (082 427 6735 - this is a public number) was quite nice and assisted where needed. Think they are based in the Strand. Although they 'fixed' the issue early in the weekend and did not think it would be nice to let me know that they fixed the issue. But I blame the whole layering business model and @Frogfoot Fibre for trying to remain as far away from clients as possible.

But yes, @Frogfoot Fibre is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of funding. @TelkomZA please bring us Openserve coverage and take my money!!1
