Frogfoot Thread

I have this exact issue too. Same nonsense excuse from Axxess "We can't report it because the packet loss is less than 2%". This is crazy, I am unable to do any web conferencing, every 5 minutes it drops

Well I pay for a 200 up and 200 down but only get 200 up and 47 down for the past 2 weeks. Don't even try to submit a Linux speedtest.cli report. Way above the "engineers" skill set. If it does not say Windows speedtest app you are left in the cold. At this stage I think it might be better to switch to 5g for less per month and more stable.

ive sent 12 screenshots in already in this ticket. a bunch of copy paste of the ping / tracert.

my concern with going to another ISP is that what if the problem really is with frogfoot (only fibre provider here) then i'll have the same issues. but this is really feeling more like an axxess thing than anything else

I also got exactly the same response now. I have already done all the tests for them, sent over 30 screenshots of the problem and explained it in detail.

I am now requesting to speak to a manager (Not sure how much that will help) and also sent Frogfoot a message on Facebook begging them to please assist.

This is how it has been going this week on my side too.

I have managed to get a Frogfoot representative contact me this morning. Frogfoot has made it clear that there is no requirement from their side for "Packet loss need to be at least 5% before they will accept a ticket".

They are contacting Axxess and instructing them to log this as a fault so that they can attend.

Still no feedback from Axxess

    Hi Ronnie

Our Faults department have reviewed the fault and they need the speed test(s) need to be done with a speedtest.net App.

May you please download the above mentioned so you can be able to test the speed on it and please provide 3 separate speed tests and forward so the issue can be expedited with the Faults team.

    Kind Regards

    Am I missing something?

its an official speedtest app afterall...

my fun with them, pings have to be a screenshot of cmd window and submitted as a pdf. otherwise its not accepted.

my dealings with their support staff has been rather cordial - (other than the scripted copy paste ping, unplug, 2 minutes blah blah). but the processes they have... im truely amazed how axxess has deteriorated :(

Agree, they went from hero to zero when they started with fibre. Why they protect Frogfoot is also unbelievable.

As someone who used to be on FrogFoot - and had the same issues for 2 years (literally) - the only solution is to switch to another FNO - been on OpenServe for a year now and it is solid as a rock.

Problem is my 110m driveway. I have Vuma on the pavement, but we had to pay almost R4k in extra fibre metres when we had FF installed. Definitely not keen to pay that again.

I would pay it to get away from FF - otherwise you're just paying whatever you pay per month to FF for frustration

Frogfoot Business Fibre

Why is it that the first customer in an area is charged a higher price than advertised on your website?
Other customers thereafter can apply at the website price.
For how long do you expect the first customer to pay a premium?
What happens when the first customer cancels their service?

100% agree. I paid +-R7k to get fiber installed at my business and then R2.6k a month for 20mb business fiber. Frogfoot and Vox (which is the same company if I’m not mistaken) not even a week later, the prices drop to R1.5k for installation and R1.5k for the 20mb. So when I asked if I could get my subscription dropped to R1.5k also (I did everything month to month and paid the installation upfront) they say no it’s a pricing error on their website and it’s actually more, that was a month ago. Prices are still the same

wonder if anyone else is experiencing this with frogfoot.

intermittent timeouts

View attachment 1421239

im in JHB eastrand. ISP axxess. Backend: FrogFoot.

axxess cant help cause the % loss is too low. this happens throughout the day. but sometimes its worse other times... particularly when im on the call with support.. its only a 1% loss which is too low for them to log a fault with.

been like this since about thursday last week (~10 nov).

we've reset the port. connected directly to the ont. even using a different router now.. problem persists.

do ISP's have test accounts? (paid for ones like a day or 2 vs month by month).

edit:

im at the sarcastic phase now.. my ticket reply simply included the following image and "guessing this is "acceptable"....."

Exact same thing happening to me at my house! Been happening since the 31st of October. RSAWEB have been utterly useless, haven’t even replied to my ticket where I sent through all the tests. PTA East Frogfoot and RSAWEB

Good Day

Please be advised that the Frogfoot issue regarding the intermittent connectivity has been resolved.

---------

well lets see how this goes... i really hope it is fixed... starting to run out of "trial" days for pingplotter...

My packet loss has decreased.

With regard pingplotter. I've owned a license for more than 20 years.

In that time I had to give him a couple of bucks twice when he made major upgrades. This is another small business operator who's fighting way above his weight category. It's worth supporting him.

My last drop was at around 8:07pm last night. It took them a week and lots of noise from us, so let's hope that really is the end of it.
