I think they're still awaiting some wayleaves from JRA :/

They are starting with the portion west of Delta Park though, already some digging happening.

Lekker, thank you sir :)

On the other hand, only phase 8 /cries

nameBL AG8 - Phase 8
descriptionConstruction Starts: 16 November
Fibre Ready: 2 Decembe

But that's not too bad. When "fibre ready" can we be switched on?

That is when they can start installing the final line to your house. But as mentioned, those times are subject to change. As rain etc can impact on the delivery time. But I am looking forward to Fibre being available :D

you and me both :)
My question is once that final CPE install is done, is that it? we're on? Or do we need to wait for completion before the fibre can be lit?

Once they have completed your area, and you have the final line into the house, you will be lit up.

So you don't have to wait till next year, the first houses are expected to be on in November already.

BTW, you saw it here first. Click below to order your Fibre:

:D

THANK YOU FOR YOUR APPLICATION!

Nice. Hard to believe that last year this time we were still having meetings, trying to see who we should go with, now a year later, and Fibre is becoming a reality. Was a lot of work, and a lot of reading, but at least it is done.

You should send a big thanks you to Jed and them for making the BCA, would not be here were it not for them.

Absolutely. Also you and your committee! Without you, I'd be facing a future of escalating Telkom calls forever...
Do you still have fibre committee meetings? Wanna come to one and buy you all a round....

We have the occasional steerco meeting, but overall, I think our work is mostly done. We still get the emails and news early, but overall, VUMA has really taken charge, and have been amazing.

Really glad for comments like this. vumatel should be digging up out driveways mid-feb 2016. Meeting with them next week to talk details.

They seem really professional.

8 here but I suspect the date is wrong

I am phase 5, I hope I can get Fibre by the 14th of December in my house, would make a good bday present.

But yeah, I also saw Phase 8 dates, it may have to be January not December

Please post construction and progress photos if you have them :)

Took a drive past there yesterday, but did not take any photo's. Essentially it looks like they will probably do 2 blocks a day if everything goes fine.

Will take another drive tonight if it is possible, and take a photo or two.

Trenching seems to be going well. They started in Colinton road today. Pity there was also a burglary this morning. #progressnotprogress

The BCA has spoken to VUMA about it, and they will try to be more vigilant in the future, but it is hard, as they don't know who lives where. It is a very unfortunate incident.
