Definitely. There is also a lot of updates on the BCA facebook page. With Jason Grobler posting any news.

At least by April the fibre should be ready to be taken up in your area.

I've mowed my pavement and everything, they can mos come dig but they have some stupid plan they have to stick to ;)

They start digging again on Monday, and plan to be finished before 30March. So it will be going fast now.

First Homes was lit last night. Whoop Whoop

Nice! Hopefully we'll see some speedtests from the early fortunates. My street being done in March, can't wait!

Vuma so far has been awesone in their planning, really impressed we chose them as the provider.

How well did Vumatel stick to their planned deployments? They braking ground in mid Feb and said that the first switch on would be in the first week of April. 6 week TAT...

They ran into quite a few issues - ground was too hard from the drought, utilities not where the wayleaves said they would be, JRA mandated december shutdown. So been pushed back a month or two in some zones, but they're pushing hard to finish by end of march.
Blairgowrie is a huge suburb though - biggest residential suburb in SA afaik, close to 5000 houses, so our rollout is really the worst case.

Meant breaking... Not braking. Lol

Thanks - should get our rollout plan today or tomorrow. They have been incredibly professional so far. Wish we had more service providers like this.

We are probably around 1000 houses between 3/4 residents associations. So hopefully they work through them quickly.

Cannot wait!

There was a 1 month delay, as Sinbad stated above. The issues were out of their control however, but they did the best they could to stick to the deadlines. First homes went live in the beginning of January, close to 150 have already been lit up. And that is only in phase 1 and 2. The timeline for first homes was December 15 and that happened on 11 January.

they do communicate well however on facebook, and twitter

Been impressed with their communication levels, more so when things go wrong and need to be fixed (like the utilities). If their service levels are as good the trenching stage, their fibre system will be awesome.

Hi fellow Biarfolk, i have a quick question. how long did it take from the time that Vumatel refilled your driveway till the point that you were lit up. they just refilled my driveway this morning so i need an estimate on how long it'll take to get lit up... *over excited*

Hi, So there is not a specific time for that. Each zone has a time of when you can expect to be lit up from. From your statement, you seem to be in phase 6/7 which means that you will be lit up anytime after the 18th February

please see the link for the rollout schedule:

For anyone who has had this - whom is the best ISP to use?

Are the uncapped packages any good?

Better to go for capped?

ISP Preferences/ experience?

It may be better to ask on the BCA facebook page, if you are not a member, PM me your details, and I will send it on to the BCA to add you to the database, and facebook page.

Uncapped vs Capped depends on what you are using it. But I would prefer Uncapped, and with that will be going with Cool Ideas. A lot of people on the myBB forum is raving about Vox. But I find their packages expensive for what you get, and if you are planning to stream multiple devices, then it is a definite no with capped products.
