Yeah thanks, I've always known you guys awesome, requiem was just a paranoid due to the questionable quality of some of the other home uncapped packages.

Yes so a major difference with the Vumatel network is they don't charge an access fee, so if we start to saturate the interface to Vumatel we just request a larger interface to address the capacity need and upgrade. Unlike the way things are with other networks which have high IPC/Access costs involved.

Thanks, yes, that makes perfect sense. So essentially you can download as much as the line can take at the speed you are paying for. Generally, most people would not hit that amount, I know I would be hard pressed. I only do gaming and streaming, lol
 
So originally I was going to go for Vox since they have been a strong ADSL provider. But now I am starting to have second thoughts as well. I have checked out Cool Ideas yesterday and seems they offer the same as Vox, but also unshaped data!! It also seems that everyone on MyBroadband would now prefer them over any other provider. Will I be disappointed to rather pick CISP as my ISP over the other ISPs?

FLHEM I presume this is going to be on the Vumatel Network? If so, there is no startup cost with us and all packages are month to month, if you're not happy with us you cancel and move, simple as that :)
 
I should be lit up towards the end of march. I will be giving you a trial CISP

Quick question

How does the network connection/session/ISP stuff actually work? Is it also a PPPoE thing? Can I put a switch in front of the ONT and connect two routers?

Reason I'm asking - possibility of running two ISP accounts on one fibre - one for house and one for cottage...?

This is something that you will have to ask the VUMA guys, and the ISP. I don't have enough knowledge to answer.

So this depends on the network you're on, Vumatel is not PPPoE based, you plug into the CPE and get issued your public IP. With Fibrehooods for instance it is PPPoE based. But either way if you wanted to use dual ISPs you would need dual lines to do so, a CPE/ONT is provisioned to a single ISP at a time.

Damn.

So what would one do for a cottage?
Don't really want to share the account, due to me being liable for whatever the tenant does...
 
Well you would simply have another line installed, again network dependent but it's a once off fee. Your costs to your ISP includes your line rental so to speak.

Wonder how this would work from a Vuma point of view.
 
Same story, you pay the R1710.00 once off fee, and vumatel will run an additional line to your cottage.

They're not hugely responsive to the email address though...
 
If you want the 2nd line installed you would just complete another application form on their site for your cottage, they do have quite a backlog at the moment so the sooner you can get it in the better.
