City Power has been shocking at times. Like their twitter account rep lying that they were on-site last nite to fix a power cut when Vuma was adamant they were the only team on-site. That's the story I heard anyway.

Yup you got it right.City Power has been shocking at times. Like their twitter account rep lying that they were on-site last nite to fix a power cut when Vuma was adamant they were the only team on-site. That's the story I heard anyway.
Yeah gatvol of them. That will definitely help as at the moment, impression currently given is that Vuma is not trenching properly.
They need to be open about the causes as well, will help the residents (well some of them anyway) to be more understanding. You will unfortunately always get some ppl who will complain regardless of the reasons.
TBH, you are not the only one who are tired of the people complaining Sinbad. Honestly.
VUMA guys only left this morning at 4:15, and was on site again at 7:00 to work. That is less than an hours sleep if you take driving into consideration. Tonight seems like another long night for them. Yet people shout over the phone and on facebook. I am staying quieter on facebook right now, as if I were to make comments, I would blow my top
Dawid I have a prediction. Write this down.
In a year's time the loudest moaners will be hooked on their fibre. Loving it.
Then someone will put a fork through their cable.
Cue the moaning that vuma didn't trench deep enough, completely forgetting why they didn't trench deeper
True Sinbad, very true.
I do however have some good news (this has not been officially been announced) but VUMA is now trenching in all the areas in blairgowrie. The trenching should be done by the end of February.
That is 1 month ahead of schedule. How amazing is that

[02/02 17:37] Message from Brandon at Vuma...
Please would you let the residents know that Vuma liaisons will be out this evening walking door to door to explain what's happened. We will try get to everyone possible.
[02/02 17:41] Message from Jason at Vuma:
Hi all, unfortunately we have hit power again. We believed that yesterday was an isolated incident with the cable running at 700mm depth, rather than the requisite 1.2m. We can see now that it is not isolated, but rather consistently shallow. We are putting a report together for the sake of transparency which will detail exactly the reasoning for these incidents. We are also going to amend our protocol to prevent this from reoccurring, by decreasing our trench depth. We do apologize for the inconvenience caused, but rest assured that we are taking further steps to mitigate risk. We will update social media as this progresses.
Not at all surprising. For real fun times they should try trenching in the Sandton CBD and see the mess that is.
Trenching in Sandton CBD is a joke. Before a party has filled in their hole, another one comes behind to reopen it to plant another cable.
This may be a silly questiom but will ask anyway... Does Vuma lay it's own fibre throughout the suburbs or do they lease some of it from companies such as DFA?
