FTTH Montana Park

I see that dark spot in Wonderboom as well. I'm hoping that they do something in the near future in Sinoville as well. Its between Montana and Wonderboom so there should be some hope for us.

I'm a block away from that Wonderboom area. So near, yet so far. I'm now stuck at 4 Meg ADSL due to crappy line quality. Pure torture.

Another block went active north of Zambezi Estate. At least there is some progress in the area.....just not at my house. : (

Some vans and associated technicians have been active in the area behind the Kolonnade lately. That may or may not mean something. The area I am in went active after a long period when it seemed that the whole process had either been suspended or abandoned. It happens when it happens.

Good morning everyone. I'm your SADV - (FTTH for DFA) contact. Let me know where you are still struggling so I can see if we can do anything for you from our side.
You are more than welcome to mail me on [email protected]

I see some more active areas close to Marija. Has anybody seen any activity in Montana Park recently? I have seen activity on Braam Pretorius but close to Veda ave. Nothing recently in Montana Park.

Fiber is running past my house....not to my house. :(

I see those new active areas just above Braam Pretorius street.
I can basically smell the Firbe.
I'm basically 3 roads directly down from there.

Hi Guys,

I live just above the Builders Warehouse, and have been looking at Openserves coverage map daily for about a year with no joy. There is fiber 211m from my house but not at it. I simply can't live with the max 4Mbps ADSL in the area. Has anyone thought of just asking someone to get a 50Mbps fiber line that is in the coverage area and sending 25Mbps over wifi to someone that does not have fiber coverage?

I see they have started trenching in Marija Street, not close to Montana park I know but people might be interested to know if they see this thread.

At this point any sighting of work done in the area ( Montana, Montana Park, Sinoville etc) is appreciated. Basically any area adjacent to Sefako Makgato (Zambezi) would be appreciated.

I stare at the fiber running past my house via the old phone poles. With emphasis on PAST. Box everything is there. Just not active yet.

I applied to CoolIdeas as my ISP on 22 Jan. (1 week already gone)
I will keep you posted on how long it takes OpenServe to install the CPE/ONT and from then how long it takes to get the router etc upto the point where all is live.

Thus far I only received one communication from CoolIdeas in regards with my application but nothing else.
I presume they wait for OpenServe to finish before doing anything else.

2 weeks gone now and not a peep from Openserve. Requested an update from CoolIdeas and they stated it is with Openserve. How long does it normally take from application for Openserve to install the CPE/ONT?

After almost 3 weeks finally got a call from Openserve at 3:00PM to install the CPE/ONT. Technician will call on Monday 12 Feb before coming. So lets hope it is Monday.

Short summary is that it takes basically 3 weeks from ordering to get the CPE/ONT installed.

Got a call from Openserve around 11:30. They arrived 11:45 and were done 13:30. Fiber runs via telephone line and also directly from old phone pole to house thus no trenching. Now just have to wait for CoolIdeas to get confirmation that it is active and then take it from there.

Finally started laying fibre in our estate. Saying it is going to take about a month before it is done.
