For a very long time the Octotel page on Cool Idea's website was a full-screen notice saying that due to unresolved network issues new signups are not being accepted.

Although that's hardly an important source - more like a natural reflection of the problem. The number of users complaining about Octotel has been substantial, and I've enjoyed the misery of Octotel firsthand. And Cool Ideas, Mweb and Afrihost support agents have told me how impossible Octotel is to deal with.

Seeing as the network is still s**t, I can't help but wonder if legal threats resulted in the notice being taken down. It was cited pretty frequently here on MyBB when Octotel users mused about signing with Cool Ideas in general discussions.

Openserve on Vox Fatpipe 200 GB here. Thats the one cool thing about openserve fibre, that you can use DSL Data accounts and its not locked to 1 provider like all the others are.

I'm next to UCT, Openserve only covers my street, Octotel is busy rolling out the rest of my neighbourhood.
