Hi Guys

I have a Huawei B525 LTE router, i get full bars but speeds of 2-4mbps, does not matter what time of day it is. The tower is less then 200 meters away from my place. Is there any settings i need to change to get decent speeds or should i contact Telkom?

Things i tried:

Switching between the 2300Mhz and 1800Mhz bands.
Switching between CloudFlare and Google DNS servers.
Moved my router from room to room.

Is there anything i'm missing?
Thanx

also slow speeds but not as bad as 2-4.
get spikes during the day of 10.

My telkom mobile sim card in my mobile phone (2nd sim) is showing an exclamation mark and I'm getting no throughput at all. This started sometime this morning for me. Durban North area.

Had endless **** with Telkom 4G. My parents couldn't get Fibre in their area (Marina Da Gama in Cape Town) and so I suggested that they tried the Telkom Uncapped 4G package, thinking it would be able to stream Netflix and allow my younger brother to still game - Until Fibre becomes available.

They have 4/5 bars signal but most nights their Netflix is just buffering and my brother has to play on local servers with ping times of over 300ms. Their speed tests just about make the 1/2Mbps down and up mark. It's honestly so f-king frustrating. Before they moved they had a 2Mbps ADSL line and I always laughed at them for it. Now I'm the one looking like an idiot because in all honesty their 2Mbps ADSL line was FAR MORE reliable and quite frankly, quicker than this Telkom 4G story.

I've tried ALL sorts of fixes but to no avail. Changed the APN to unrestricted, changed their DNS server to 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9, have tried the different 4G bands etc but nothing seems to make it come right.

Perhaps you issue is regarding the area...
have you tried switching ISPs to maybe Airmobile
I considered it being the area but spoke to other forumites (whom I actually still owe an update since settings changes, oops) and the tower that my parents connect to is literally 1km away, they have 4/5-5/5 bars 4G signal at any given point and one of the forum members that I was speaking to actually stays in the same area as my parents and very seldom has these issues. It's one of those issues that becomes more complex and inexplicable the deeper you go down the rabbit hole

yikes good luck sounds like you'll need it...

still have slow speeds

my service went off and changing to unrestricted resolved that but not speed.

i also had 2m dsl which was faster than current LTE
Ah ok, I see... Yea my parents always got service but the speeds are drastically intermittent! TBH, It seems like their (Telkom) Fixed LTE is just an issue in itself. The amount of people who are complaining about bad speed should be a huge concern for them. Can surely only be a matter of time before Telkom is forced to look at their Infrastructure and Towers, i hope!

Speed horrible last couple of days. This morning.

Ping: 270ms
Download: 0.5Mbps
Upload: 1.03Mbps

Hello! You have used 19048 MB of your "inclusive SmartBroadband Uncapped Wireless service".

I am still on the original uncapped service so not speed limited to 10Mbps, with a 300GB fair use.
