Yes I suppose it is, but using the Bixby button would make switching between apps much quicker and convenient especially if you have a pre-defined list.

No idea, what that guy is on about.. That button can be switched to the right or left or where you want to place it on the task bar ie at the bottom. You hit that, it brings up all your open apps, and you can switch between that, or kill all the apps etc.

The only other thing I can think of, is the the toggle where you can switch your wifi, Bluetooth, airplane mode on and off in the form of a widget on a home screen

Also, if you hit your "recent" button twice, like a double-tap, you auto switch back to the previous active app.

I remapped mine with bxActions, and I use it as a Task Switcher button, so I don't have to swipe up to get the task switcher button.
