Galaxy Note 8

When you open contacts and click on a name doesn't yours do the same as attached ?

Your screenshot shows that you are calling already and that is why the video call button is greyed out.

I also don't have that.
Vodacom phone with MTN SIM.

Must say, I like how Samsung update their built in components of the FW separately. Nokia did this in the later days of Symbian, it makes a lot more sense than waiting for a whole update, they can tackle issues in the Web Browser, Call app, Contacts app, Device Maintenance etc etc.. In a speedy manor.

What an impressive device the n8 is. They are definitely moving on the right direction

I don't care much about battery life. I can get 8 hours and I always have one or more power banks with me when I'm not near a power outlet...

I don't care about things like screen on time. If I can get through a full day on 1 charge, i'm fine. going on 1.5days is more problematic for me.

At the same token charging your phone to much is also problematic. Its best to let the phone run completely down. This will improve the lifespan of the battery. But like you said its user preference

No no, you should not let the phone die regularly . Charging a phone from near 0% regularly stresses the battery as it causes heat and overtime weakens the cells lowering charge capacity . Let it die every now and then but not daily.
