Galaxy Note 8

Should be my last message....

I used that phone info app you had. This is what it shows. Am I reading it correctly that nothing has actually changed on my phone?

Thanks Fanie. Maybe I'll go that way. Just don't like having to setup everything again. Especially my Authentication apps.
If you come right, please let me know how you did it. My BTU flashing didn't quite work out as planned.....

Sure will do. I'm going to try Fanies method and see how it goes. BTW which version of ODIN did you use because it would seem that only latest version is compatible with the Note8.

I used the one from Sammobile. So I used 3.13.1....

Also have been trying the whole day to get mine on either xef or btu... gave up when I saw this......

The oxm files has an multi csc.

This package contains the HOME_CSC of OXM Multi-CSC, which include the following CSC's: ACR AFG AFR ARO ATO AUT BGL BNG BRI BTC BTU CAC CAM CEL CHO COO DBT DKR ECT EGY EON ETL EUR GLB ILO INS ITV KSA LAO LUX LYS MID MM1 MWD MYM NEE NPL ORX PAK PCL PHE PHN PTR ROM SEB SEE SEK SER SIN SKZ SLK SMA STH THL THR TMC TPA TPH TTT TUN TUR WTL XEF XEH XEO XEU XFA XFE XME XSG XSP XTC XXV ZTO

Try removing your SIM card before flashing so that your first boot is without a SIM in the phone. XEF is the default CSC for the European group, but it selects the most appropriate CSC for the SIM card in the phone on first boot.
Worked for me this morning.

My process was:
1. Flash XFV and confirm CSC set to XFV.
2. Remove SIM
3. Flash XEF, let it reboot.
4. Bypass setup and do OTA update to Oreo
5. Insert SIM and reboot
6. SIM change detected, have to reboot, which changes CSC back TO XFE

On all my attempts today (to get BTU), I didn't have my sim card in. At no point did it ever change from XFA, for me at least.

EDIT: Just comparing notes and experiences.

I wonder how Fanie managed to get BTU/BTU/BTU?

I don't have much hope that I will be successful either...

If the CSC your phone is running on is contained in the firmware you flash, it will default to your CSC. That's why I went to XFV first, and then back.

There is lots of info on this in sammobile's forums.
