Galaxy Note9

I just got a call from MTN and finalized my pre order. The monitor gets delivered with the phone but the welcome pack has to be redeemed from savi.celcom.co.za. Has anyone dealt with them before?

So my wife has pre ordered but no one has contacted her, if we go to a store on Saturday and we manage to find stock do you this she will be eligable for the welcome pack etc?
 
I also haven't received a call, but I pre-ordered in-store.
 
If pre ordered online from MTN and you go in-store you can only claim the welcome pack. The 24inch monitor is
 
We tried to pre order last week in 3 different Vodacom shops, all of them said they cannot help us, we need to do it online, they will then contact us. Still nothing...
 
Did they fix the waiting time when searching within settings?

Also, are animations snappier compared to the note 8?

On my note 8, I set all my animations to 0.5x under the developer options. It make a huge difference. You can set it to 0 for no animations.

I'm aware of that. I pretty much run the 0.5 setting on every android phone. However, this doesn't influence the waiting time when searching within settings.

Also, even if animations are set to 0.5, it's not as fast and fluid as phones that run a lighter skin or vanilla android.

Just wondering if the note 9 feels snappier.
 
Has nobody received their Note9 or got the call??? Today is the release, preorders should have been getting delivered surely?

I wonder if the networks will have them available to walk-ins, then again I guess the walk-ins won't get the preorder goodies.

Wow, R729!? That's less than the cheapest package for Note8 on Vodacom last year.

Lady at work already picked up her Note9 from Telkom Sandton yesterday. No pre order, just walked in.

Makes sense, often times that is how it goes. I remember with the Note 4 I didn't preorder I just called the guy who I usually dealt with at Vodashop Fourways and he told me to come in the day before release, and I walked out with a Note 4, while preorder folks waited another week or 2, back then the networks were not doing preorder gifts, so there was no real incentive to preorder other than the possibility of getting the device before stock ran out on initial release.
 
So anyone get theirs today? And if you go to store now do you get the goodies that comes with it? I honestly do not know why we bother with Vodacom pre-orders if they can't even get back to you ever.
