Hi. I have posted on other threads trying to find a solution but to no avail.

I received my Galaxy S4 from CellC this Saturday and the battery level has been dropping excessively since I got it. I had 5H and 30Min of usage on a full charge. Does anyone else experience this problem or has anyone found a solution?

The phone is always on 2G, I have none of the features like Smart Stay, Smart Pause, Smart Scroll, Air View, etc. enabled. I took it off charge 20min ago and the battery level is already at 89%. The brightness is less than half and I don't have a live wallpaper. The phone also heats up even when I'm not using it. Power Saving Mode is also activated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I don't want to return the phone to CellC and wait a week for a new one.

Something wrong - mine lasts 18hrs with medium to high usage

Does the phone feel warm all the time? What is chewing your battery resources? Goto Settings > Battery

No only certain times. It is only so high because I have been only using the phone for less than an hour (screen on time)

3G was only on to post this since edge is a bit slow

Did you do as I suggested in the other thread?
Is this your usage after switching off the phone for 5 mins, then charge up to 100%?

What exactly have you been using the phone for in those 5h20m as per the screen shot?
Your high usage is definitely all media related (Media, Media server Google Play Music) - but we still need to know your "screen on" time is in relation to the above usage. Are you playing media from a MicroSD card? If so, you could have corrupted media (,mp3, .mp4, .avi) which could be causing Media server problems.

Also, you say in your OP that your phone is always on 2G, yet your screenshot shows that you are using 3G - this could also be a drain if you are in an area with bad signal. This doesn't seem to be the case, otherwise you would have had high usage from "Cell standby", which you don't.

Can you read?, go read what he said

I have found on my S2, where there is lack of proper 3G signal, the battery drains like a MOFO!

Yes I did exactly as you said. The battery was at 8% then I charged it until it gave me a notification that it was full. The phone is always on 2G and I mostly have full signal. I am using a memory card but I did remove it yesterday and used it without the memory card. There was no improvement. Since this morning I have only used it for music, checked and replied a few emails and then used mybroadband. The phone was on standby most of the day and 2G the whole day except when I posted earlier.

Forgot to post the screen on time

If you are using an external memory card then backup the memory card and format it.
Then do a factory reset on the S4, if that doesnt sort your issue out then return it.

Thank you I will certainly try this. I forgot to mention that I did a hard reset on the phone last night but maybe the memory card is an issue. I have had it for years so the chances of a virus to be on there is pretty good

So I removed the memory card, wiped the phone and charged it to 100%. I am on 3G, brightness is less than a half and nothing except battery saving mode and mobile data is on. Is the usage good or bad? Screen on time is also 16min
