Game and desktop recorder

Hey guys, I need a program that can record game and desktop sessions but not at the same time. IE: I need to record the the desktop then jump into a game then back to the desktop.

I have tried Camtasia 8 and aTube catcher, both record the screen but when jumping into a game it will show the desktop.

Any suggestions? Im also trying to avoid FRAPS (should it be capable of this).

Overworld (might, havent tested it much) or that recorder that you get from TwitchTv? I know the Twitch TV you can set it to record a specific application and not the desktop, so you can alt tab out.

A friend recommended me OBS and FF Split, OBS would not work due to my very basic graphics card lol

I may aswell just record the desktop with one program and the game with another, yes it will force me to stop and start all the time, but thats ok.

I'm sure you'd be able to use FF Split to record both desktop and game, if I'm not mistaken, you should give it a try
