Game/console collectors thread

Why didnt you bid higher @EL'Diablo ? That was a damn good price for a PS2 + games. If I was looking for that I would have easily paid R400 more than that selling price.

Reminds me of SIMS 1. Made a family and called them the Vokops.

Long story short they were poor with the husband being a wife beater(Story wise).
Wife had to work while he sat at home.

One night at 11PM he went to the kitchen to make something to eat. They didnt have money for the smoke alarm.
He did something wrong and the stove caught fire. Told him to extinguish the fire.

While this was happening told the wife to wake up and extinguish the fire.
The husband caught on fire and the wife eventually came to the kitchen. Told her to extinguish the husband but she just stood there shouting.

She caught fire and they both died. BEST SIMS STORY EVER.

$16,500 is not much. let's see how the new Vokops turn out.

Philips CD-i. Quite an obscure retro system. The model I have has the Magnavox brand on it.
AFAIK, the only retro gaming console that one could use a light-gun and not need a CRT TV for the light-gun to work.
The IR unit works in a similar way to that of a Wiimote. So it works fine with any modern TV.

The CD-i can also play movies of the Video CD (VCD) variety.
Comparable in quality to VHS.

It also has a couple officially licensed Zelda, and Mario games.
Not the greatest though. :p

Woah, nice to see a CD-i still alive. I still have two titles I bought from DIONS many moons ago and these are not Video CDs, they are actual Digital Video discs. They don't have a filesystem like a Video CD but resemble Audio CDs, just in a video format.

If you ever decide to part with those, give me a shout. I'd definitely be interested.
