Same with Xbox. I just cant play games that is not in ZA store via a ZA account.

Ditto for Xbox, I can play games on my ZA xbox using my ZA account that been installed from a friends NZ library.

Except you said that even though some games are purchased in a different region, you can't play them.

So not sure what you were going on about.

Some games that I bought when my account was set to US region, which is not in ZA store can't be played anymore. This stopped last year.
Note: This is only for games that is not in ZA store. Games in ZA store works just fine.

I created a US store account and bought Oblivion again just so that I can play it on my Series X.

You can play any game you bought with a US account, if it's installed on your PS4 or 5, it will play with any account from any country, logged in from any country, even if the said game is not sold in the logged in account. So a Japanese only game can be played on a ZA account.

Think we talking past each other.

Microsoft used to use 1 account multi region now you have to use it like PlayStation and install the game with that region's account in order to play it with your main account. (Only for games that is not in your main account's Store)

Yeah I think they were forced by local censors and publishers who have different royalty deals with different providers. Sony, Nintendo and Apple don't perform IP address checks. And that's very cool of them. They only block foreign payment methods.
 
Has Goldeneye for the N64 ever been released or even updated for release on the Switch, etc?

Or are the rights still an issue.
