Gaming Laptop help

And how does it work if you get an external monitor, does the GPU drive both displays or does the Internal GPU run one of them?
No the GPU runs apps that require the GPU, irrespective of monitor.
Windows decides but you can set it manually.

Assuming you're not chasing 4k ultra the 4060 will do.
A company won't make a game to not run on it because they'll kill most of their market. Going 4070/4080 is much more expensive.

Pick a lappy you like, Google it for obvious defects and if you're happy go for it.

Only other thing I looked for was a second SSD/m.2 slot so I could add more storage.

Funny how R30k sounds like a lot for a laptop but people spend it on phones easily.

Don't know about AMD, but Intel CPU will power monitors and dictate up to what resolution and depending on the number of monitors it can support. Make sure to check this, for example some can only do 3 monitors and 2 x HD and 1 x UHD etc. However, the actual applications or games can be set to run either from integrated graphics or high-performance GPU.

That is a great suggestion, because I have a second SSD data drive on my current laptop

So true on the phones part, and people keep phones for a shorter period lol

Thanks, will do some research on this once I got a machine in mind

Machine will be for casual gaming, did not want to mention that at the start as to be limited in options because I generally keep my computers\laptops for longer than 3 years. So the extra power\gpu\processing will come in handy

If that makes sense, as my current laptop is already 8 years old.

It does the job for my everyday tasks, just looking to future proof with the end of support for Windows 10 around the corner...

Certainly! Let’s compare the Nvidia RTX 4060 (Laptop) and the RTX 4070 (Laptop) GPUs:
  1. Performance:
  2. Value and Market Share:
  3. User Ratings:
In summary, if you’re looking for a GPU for 1080p gaming, the RTX 4060 is a good choice. However, if you want more performance and can afford it, the RTX 4070 is the better option. Keep in mind your specific gaming needs and budget when making your decision!

Lol, this is not true! I have a 1070 and 1070Ti and it looks pretty crappy (dynamic lighting and shadows are horendous). But you can play Fallout 4 with all the mods installed and get 30 FPS and crisp graphics.

ok, 2070 then. I used a 1080Ti with my 2600k.
Byt you get the point.

This channel covers these things

Its a good default choice. If you want to use CUDA, want ray tracing or need upscaling to 1440p+, then definitely.

If no RTX, no upscaling, then AMD may be better. AMD also performs better when cpu limited.
Thanks for this as I would like to get one of those Ultra Wide screens at some point
