Hi all,

Witch of these connections will give the lowest latency. I was offered a 2meg Wifi connection to my complex. (No adsl cables in the area) The tower is very close. Like almost 500m. They come and install a dish. They claim a 15ms ping witch is hard to believe.

Im not worried about speed as the connection (Wifi) will be capped to either 2 or 4meg. With a choice between LTE (Have no LTE-A in my area as yet) and Wifi, witch has the lowest latency/ping times?

I work for a WISP (Wireless ISP) and trust me :D if their setup is done right and they have good backbone to the tower, your ping will be much lower than ADSL even! Never mind LTE and LTE-A which is still subject to normal jitter. I get sub 150ms to the EU (Currenly 148 to Final Fantasy 14 in the EU), and around 1MS to Gaming servers in Cape Town :)) (I'm from CPT) It all depends on how their setup is

I am with SonicWireless also in CPT get around 2ms-15ms on CPT servers and also around 146-152 on most EU servers as mentioned above depends on tower load, equipment used and backbone..stay away from Cambium though has high jitter/pings 30ms+ for PTMP links
