Good Day

My Samsung T240 24" monitor 1920x1200 res is giving me headaches, since it auto adjust itself once in a while or flashes forever either during gaming or work. As well as the gaming quality for PS3 is horrible!

Therefore i've decided to get a new one soon, but can't really make up my mind on which one.

Note: These are all from Landmarkpc (Cape Town) http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/
So far I have these choices from their website:

Zalman TM230 23'' LED Monitor Full HD 1920x1080

Pros:
-Within my price range
-LED Monitor
-2 HDMI ports for my PS3 and PC (Even tho I'm using DVI)
-Speakers (Bonus)
-Wall Mount (Bonus)
Cons:
-No DVI port
-5ms response time tho (Not exactly a con nor a pro)
-TN Panel and not IPS
-1" Smaller than my 24"

Samsung S23B550V 23" LED Monitor Wide Full HD 1920x1080

Pros:
-Still within my acceptable price range
-LED Monitor
-2 HDMI ports as well
-2ms response time!
-Speakers (Bonus)
-Wall Mount (Bonus)
-MHL ( Mobile High-definition Link ) [Not sure if i'll ever use it]
Cons:
-No DVI port!!
-TN Panel and not IPS
-1" Smaller than my 24"

LG E2442V-BN 24" LED Monitor Wide Full HD 1920x1080

Pros:
-Still within my acceptable price range
-LED Monitor
-1 HDMI
-DVI port
-Headphone out (Bonus)
-Wall Mount (Bonus)
-24"
Cons:
-1 HDMI port only
-TN Panel and not IPS
-5ms response time

Viewsonic VX2453MH-LED 24" LED Monitor Wide Full HD 1920x1080

Pros:
-Within my acceptable price range
-LED Monitor
-2 HDMI
-Headphone out (Bonus)
-Speakers (Bonus)
-2ms Response time
Cons:
-No DVI
-TN Panel and not IPS
-kinda look like a TV
-23.6"??
------------------------------------------

Anyways as you can see, I'm in search of a LED monitor, with good response time, either a 23" or 24", must have HDMI to support my Ps3! Image quality must be crisp and clear as well as a reliable brand, since I don't want it to break easily. final thing is no more than R2500. And for bonuses, wall-mountable would be nice, since i'll be playing GT5 with a force feed back steering wheel and don't want a wobbly monitor mount.

In the end, i'm really leaning towards the LG and Viewsonic, but not quite sure if they are upto standard? Even though Samsung and maybe Zalman looks promising. Would really really appreciate some opinions or suggestions, preferably from Landmarkpc, since I can pick it up from their store.

Kind Regards

How about this guy?

Im pretty set on 2 of these adoring my desk, im no pro gamer so I think they should do fine. PLUS it eIPS

This LG monitor looks pretty decent, and with the price! But the response time is bit high? I do play fast pace games either on PC or Ps3, and hope that response time doesn't effect too much?

Edit: I've searched online, and somehow this monitor isn't really ideal for gaming purposes~

How the Fk can these companies create a high end monitor that doesn't have a DVI port but it has a VGA port? Are they brain dead or something?

Each monitor the OP listed doesn't have a DVI port....must be because its LED....

LCD FTW

Lol yeah, thats why i'm stuck~
I think they replaced the DVI with HDMI...they probably kept the VGA because its cheaper to build in the LED panel and use the savings for an extra HDMI or speakers etc? Not sure...

From What I can see...leaning more towards the LG monitor I mentioned~ It has HDMI for my PS3, DVI for my PC, 24", wall mountable and with an audio output from the monitor, probably sound from the HDMI?

The LCD that I linked earlier is LED with dvi, HDMI and display port for daisy chaining and its IPS, win, win, win. :D

Yeah thats very true, but what concerns me is the response time of the monitor~ Read a few reviews online, some places it says upto 14ms and some 8ms and some 5ms...
I play quite a few FPS and racing games with the monitor therefore I do not want any ghostings from happening when in a fast pace action~

Zalman makes good products but I don't know enough about their screens to give an opinion - please buy one and give feedback because I am looking at that model myself: If you want, I can give it to you at cost - PM me.

The zalman TM230 looks very good, but I couldn't find any reviews regarding that monitor~ And unfortunately no DVI port~
And if you're looking at that model yourself, why not get it?

I was thinking along the same lines, I pretty much only play bf3. I did read a few posts from ppl with that LCD saying they had no problems gaming on it. I'm going to get it, it might be a little while tho as I have other components I want first

Perfect then, and i won't be getting it anytime soon as well~ Will be getting a Logitech Driving Force GT first before the monitor~ Let me know how it is when you eventually get it ^^

All these monitors seem like a step backwards from the T240?
The only difference between these LED backlit monitors and the LCD monitors is the light source shining through the panel. They are potentially brighter and do consume less power though.

I'd get the Dell U2412M, it's a bit more expensive, but it does have a 16:10 aspect ratio.

lol, yeah, i realized~ Have checked out that monitor, the problem is that it doesn't have HDMI port, I use the monitor for Ps3 gaming, pc gaming and multimedia, which I don't mind the 16:9 ratio compared to the 16:10

But seriously, if my T240 doesn't die out anytime soon, i'll definitely get this instead: Dell U2713HM

But really appreciate the suggestion. Right now I think i will wait a while longer, since 2013 is literally around the corner and finger crossed for my T240, it has served me for a very long time~

Haha, its 4k more expensive, I think I'll try stick to the budget

lol I really want the Dell U2713HM monitor but yes, its about R6k...since its 1440p and not just the usual 1080p res...Which will in turn mean I need a better pc to handle that resolution in games~ and I doubt PS3 will adapt to that kind of resolution tho.

So right now, i really don't have a choice~ might have to "Downgrade" a bit~
