Gaming on Inverter

Yea higher tier 30 series is power hungry

but msi afterburner can really stretch battery time

And the compromise isn't even that noticeable
Eh Series S + TV is less and it does the job as well, though even at 500w it would still take 16 hours to drain my batteries to 10%
 
Yeah when the GPU cost as much as my Series X did, I didn't quite expect it to be as power hungry
Yea normally the power usage tends to stay about the same and the performance doubles

But with later gens the double the performance could not be hit at same power usage so it just got revved higher
 
So to make this short, I am looking at spending 20 - 25K on something that can run my gaming PC (not sure how many watts in total, have a 3080) and maybe the TV. Not worried about fridges, etc.

I have tried to look at various options but there are so many at the moment, and I'm worried I spend on something and then it was just a waste in the end. Is it better to get these trolley inverters or buy things sepearately?

Has anyone bought something in that price range that they basically use for their PC and has no major issues?

I have a 3080 and a 5950x. I run a 27inch 1440P screen. I had one of those inverter trolleys with 2x100ah deep cycle batteries.

While rendering my entire pc, with screens and modem used 550-600w
While gaming, about 500-550w
2 hrs of gaming means it requires 1000-1200w of real world capasity

2x100ah is theoretically 2000w, meaning you using 50% of capasity, which is considererd safe.

that being said. my battieries never lasted a year of gaming and working on them, even though i was careful never to discharge more than 50%.... increase from stg2 to stg4 plus... well that was the problem.

Whatever you do, get a lithium phosfate solution. maybe 2x100ah LiPo batteries at least. it will have to be a custom/trolley option. No ecoflow/all in one package will have that amount of available w/hours at that budget.

DO NOT GET GEL/LEAD ACID.... everyone raves about it until they dont.

Thanks to peukert loss a person gets nowhere near the calculated capacity on a lead acid battery on a lithium you have no such losses

So the harder you pull the less you get out of a battery

So under worst case scenrios you would get 60% so That 1000wh suddenly becomes 600wh

How i wish i had 80kwh of batteries i assume panels is what changes the calcs?
 
^This. The 24V Mecer with 2x AGM batteries is your best bet in that budget.
You could go for the 12V and run 2x batteries in parallel for longer run times but would then need to stay below 700W total use.

I have run gaming rights quite happily on both the 12V and 24V versions of the Mecer.

One word of advice though, inverters in that price range are going to be noisy as heck due to the fans when charging/discharging at high rates so take that into account when you consider where to put it.
No, AGM is much cheaper, but also much kakker.

80? 16h x 500W = 8 kWh...
 
if you can't afford 100ah lifepo4 i would diy a 50ah the 50ah tends to be overpriced and the busbar (nickel plates won't be up to abuse ) while a diy would be and can be expanded later

not 80kwh, 9.6kw/h, if I had 80kw/h I'd not need Eskom :-) though if I did pull from them to charge it would take some time.

He said to 10%. Which is besides the point, running a load of 500W for 16 hours gives you 8 kWh.
A watt is a watt irrespective of battery voltage
Who's saying otherwise? 100 Ah doesn't mean anything if you don't know what the voltage is...
